I've got WinUAE the PC Amiga emulator.

And these games, all run on my Pc using the emulator, I can also choose which version of Kickstart to use, set the memory etc.. so I can run it as an A500, A500+, A600 or A1200 with single FDD, double or HDD.

Afterburner
Alien Breed - Tower Assault
Arcade Pool
Battlechess
Shadow of the Beast
Shadow of the Beast 2
Shadow of the Beast 3
Cannon Fodder
Chaos Engine 2
Elite
Gauntlet II
Hired Guns
Indy 500
Lemmings
Lemmings 3
Secret of Monkey Island II
Pinball Dreams
Pinball Fantasies (probably the best pinball games ever!)
Sherman M4
Skidmarks
Skidmarks II
Speedball II
Sensible World of Soccer 97
The Settlers
Vroom
Zaxxon
Zool
Zool 2

I remember this!!

Ahh, destroying bridges with the Cannon over a ravine/river...
Intercepting a supply train and stealing the reinforcements...
Running the Infantry down with your Cavalry... such good times.

The only person I ever used to get the opportunity to play against was my younger sister, who, after a while became rather adept at the game.

I'd say the best chance of ever playing it again would be to source an Amiga off ebay or maybe an Amiga emulator.

Other games to remember, New Zealand Story and Magic Pockets. So playable.

Got an A500 and A1200 in the loft with a lot of games - been meaning to stick them on eBay but could never let go...

North and South was an excellent game!

Skidmarks (as mentioned above) was also a classic. Them were the days....

The main problem I always had with an amiga emulator on the PC is that you couldn't plug one of these in:

Then when looking for a picture of one to put in this thread I found this;

USB competition pro joystick

And immediately bought one from ebay, and am now downloading WinUAE and Sensible world of soccer.

I wont tell you how many hours I spent cradling one of those joysticks, although mine was smashed to hell and back and only had one button.

WOOOO!

Give it up people, leave them as cherished memories as 90% of these games are awful these days and provide no more than 1/2 an hours entertainment before you realise just how far games have moved on since then and how much better they are for it.

Look at the links I posted, you download the games if they are freely available (they are saved on your HD as .adf files, you just tell the emulator to load it up) you don't use any Amiga disks at all and the emulator runs on XP.

And also use Google and search for "amiga games downloads"

For old arcade games you want to find M.A.M.E.

Emulates the arcade machines, so 'proper' versions of Paperboy, 720', Outrun etc

By the way, Pinball Fantasies (Amiga) is a fantastic game. It was officially released for the PC at the time IIRC.

I think you all are forgetting the mother of all Amiga games - Stunt Car racer !!

Incidentally I tried downloading UAE, but could never get it to work. I would also love to find out if SCR was available for download?

cheers

How far does it get.

Does it open a window that says you need certain Kickstart Rom versions? You do need to download/find these ROM files as .ROM files. Then you tell it which one to load and which Amiga configuration to use and Robert's your Uncle.

Should you be of peer 2 peer variety of internet user, search for "Amiga Forever" which is made by Cloanto.

This includes all the roms, UAE, and all sorts of other stuff, and is basically ready to rock.

You simply point the floppy drives at any downloaded ADF files, and that's it.
