Just done some practicing, best so far a 1m5x.x (as if I'm going to say) it just gives others a target to aim at

But I can consistantly lap at the same pace for 10 laps and have sorted my understeer, I think

Whats the call on pitstop rules?

Well, I do all my practice online so it's no secret what times I get

906 High 1:55's The cornering ability is amazing, it just lacks grunt
911 mid 1:55's I just can't get the thing to go where I want
Capri mid 1:54's, It's not the fastest car, but I just love the handling
Pantera 1:53.5 It just steams on and on, until you crash it into a wall

I'll decide tomorrow what I'm racing on Sunday so I'll have the weekend to develop a setup.

Edited to add:
Just got to a 1:52.850 best in Pantera, mid 1:53's to 54's in a 10 lap race.
Edited again:
1:52.320 but I lost 0.4 second in the mid sector compared to my previous lap.

2m25 sec when I was practicing the other night! I was somewhat worried, as you might imagine... then I realised I was on the wrong track. Things are a bit more competitive now!

1'52's !!! Holy crap I can barely make high 1'56's

Still can't decide on which car - I’m quickest in the pantera, but more likely to loose it. 911 and 906 look to be the safe bet - better to be consistent throughout than quick on a couple then stuff it in to the kitty litter.

Well I've left it a bit late to practice

After an hour I can't even get under 2mins yet and I'm nowhere near being consistent either

Finally i've got a set-up that I can work with. I'm not going to be challanging for any win, but should be competitve. Just managed a 1'55

What's worse is that the standard GTLrank time for Hockenheim is 1:50 and I'm nowhere near that

If anyone wants to add me to their GTLrank buddylist, my userid is Paul Smith

Been sick this week so less practice than usual for me (so i'm in BIG trouble)

After giving up on my own setup i've found one that doesn't send me off at every corner but getting into the 1:57s is a very rare occurence in the 911

So I plan on tootling round in the 2:10's hoping other people in front fall off, get frustrated and quit

Well - someone sat on the start grid not moving, and I hit them at full speed as I was starting my second lap - obscured by traffic.

That's a second week wasted. You might be able to tell I'm NOT impressed.

Logged in, everything was fine, qualified in 2nd.

2nd stint, everyones ping times went up to 20-30k.

Restarted game, still the pings were all over the place, although I could still read messages. Just before the game starts, no more messages, and it appears I have been disconnected.

Thats now 3 times out of 4 that had happened.

What bugs me is, I have had some good online races and practising this week without a problem......seems like a Sunday thing?!?!?

I am wondering if there is some program like an antivirus program or windows update that is scheduled to automatically update stuff from the net at about 8:30 every sunday (or every day) Dave. Have you got anything that might be doing this?

Just realised you mean the other Dave

It has got to be connection related. Check your ISP see if they are having probs, who are you with?
Also, turn all firewalls and antiviruses off, and if you are using a router or anything make sure the GTL ports are open...
Are you using wireless internet?

Dave.

No, not you, Davyboy. Every week his PC screws up and pings go really high just in time for the start of the race.

CAn we implement a no restart rule too please.

It will make people drive more carefully if they know they only have one chance.

I agree with you, however, static cars on the grid that you don't see until you've overtaken someone means its a bit unfair.

Additionaly I think a couple of others got caught out by this.

So in this instance I think it was a 'one off' situation.

Indeed, I started well, then promptly went to do my pit as required.

125 seconds later I reappeared on track - so don't tell me about 'pissed off'!!!

Anyway I stuck at it, and unlapped a few cars, so I cheered myself up a bit

Well I was having a really good race until I got disqualified for not taking a stop n go penalty which i didn't even realise I had to take. No idea why I got it

I'm sure I used the pit lane speed limiter on my stop, the only thing I can think of is if I missed a few corners but I don't think I got the course cut message more than once. Oh well have to take a closer look at the race report

But this was by far my best race so far and that was with limited pratice so really looking forward to next week

Oh yes and a big thanks to all for allowing the restart

I was rounding the last corner wide with a 906 behind/inside me and when on the straight I could hear him but could not see him in my rear view mirror. With the next car a couple of seconds in front I looked behind to make sure I hadn't knocked him off when I came off the rumble strips. I was pulling away as I think I had compromised his exit. Back to front view to see a yellow 911 stopped infront of me

Next think I'm flying up the pit straight upside down

So a big thanks for the restart
