Normally I'd agree with the no restart rule, but two weeks running i've seen cars taken out either from hitting DaveyBoy's car on the grid, or from the resulting carnage. I had to take huge evasive action to avoid the smash, cost me 3 places, and about 10 seconds.

I agree with you, however, static cars on the grid that you don't see until you've overtaken someone means its a bit unfair.

Additionaly I think a couple of others got caught out by this.

So in this instance I think it was a 'one off' situation.

Indeed, I started well, then promptly went to do my pit as required.

125 seconds later I reappeared on track - so don't tell me about 'pissed off'!!!

Anyway I stuck at it, and unlapped a few cars, so I cheered myself up a bit

I think a restart was justified in this case, if a car was left on the grid in F1 i'm sure they would restart, would'nt they? although I was having a great race with Diver i still thought it was only fair (may have been different if i was leading the battle )

other than that restarts should be kept to a minimum i reckon

Shame so many people had problems tonight not usualy the case i guess

I really feel for you Davyboy, that must be realy annoying, especialy when the other races you have midweek are fine.... hope you find out what it is and don't give up

nice tussle at end AJ, i hope my fake dive to the inside of corner did'nt put you off (picked this up from Ian so blame him)

saw Adam poke his nose into my rearview mirror a couple of times but then dropped back to my relief

never saw Ian from start to finish

anyway.... Looks like its tightened up the 65 challenge, hope things go better next week for everyone, probably be my turn for a paddy next week, i'm due one

GT40 should be quite good round Monza I think, Mike? (damn, just noticed its imola next, not Monza )

edited to say: better luck next time Diver

Had a pretty good start from 3rd on the grid. Overcooked the approach to the hairpin and locked up, tried to avoid Mark but just clipped him I think - sorry about that! Managed to keep lapping consistantly for the next 8 laps before pitting for 9 laps of fuel. Rejoined and I'm amazingly still in 3rd place! Kept it together until the penultimate lap when I came across 2nd place PV in a rather wayward looking GT40! Managed to pass him, but was so busy trying to see where he was in my mirrors that I forgot to brake for the next corner Got back on the circuit in 4th behind Mark, who promptly lost it on the pit straight - so back up to 3rd
Then caught back up with PV on the last lap, but my tyres were shot and I just couldn't quite get the power hooked up enough to take the GT40 on the last corner - finishing 1 second behind!
Good race

Late getting in so missed this, can I still have the server race report as it holds information about qualifying and laps (cut) that the other doesn't.

Ok quick question, do the "DNF" and "DQ" runners still score championship points? Or not?

Neil,

don't forget to send both reports - 1st one for propper quali and 2nd for race results. I'm sure they can be combined to reflect the actual events.

Well I was having a really good race until I got disqualified for not taking a stop n go penalty which i didn't even realise I had to take. No idea why I got it

I've just generated the results using the server race results to get the lap by lap times for everyone and your's doesn't list any cut laps, so I don't know why you were DQ'd. Did you give the finger to the race director maybe?

This reminds me. I got a warning for cutting the track on lap 1 when I drove up the inside on the start finish straight. How can I be cutting the track when IT IS GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. There is no possible advantage as you can't drive a shorted distance through doing it. Some of the track cutting rules in GTL are really crappy.

Thanks FWD, do you know if there is a server message log that may mention why I recieved a stop n go?

I suppose I could have been pit lane speeding on the way in? But i'm sure I used the speed limiter on the way out

Likely to be speeding on the way in.
There are no logs on the server for things like that unfortunately

Good race

It was a pretty uneventful race for me, The Pantera being about 3 seconds a lap faster than the other cars around Hockenheim.
I ran a two stint race with a refuel & tyre change on lap 10 which put me back on track just ahead of 2nd place. After that I pretty much just took a steady run to the finish.
