Well that was rather annoying.

I did a reasonable job in qualy but come the start of the race, I typed "good luck everybody" and then clicked the button that takes you to the grid. Except it took me to variante alta, I was parked across the track at it, it also said I was in P-1 out of 18. SO I quiited to the menu and clicked the button again and ended up back the same place. I was typing stuff but nobody answered. I did a few laps and my lap counter didn't go up. So I hit escape. and then I could still click that "go to grid" button. So I did, and it took me to the same place at variante alta. and then I got hit by an Elan (sorry!). I then drove round a bit (i caught and "passed" dobbo) but I didn't really know if other people could see me and as I was still on "lap 1" I just quit.

GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I could have won that race outright maybe.

Your car was just stuck on the grid - didn't see you even move to he honest... Bad luck, because you were pretty fast in qualy.

I had a rubbish race, ho hum.

Get in there!

At last I manage a start, and it feels like a win!

Pretty boring for the most part, until I made a pit stop at the end of lap 8. I came out behind Diver, and 2 dueling GT40s. I made fairly light work of the GT40s over taking both of them on the tight 2nd gear hair pin after the fast chicanes.

I then was back in 3rd knowing diver had to pit....I kept applying preassure, and he spun

In summary, a bit of a dull race, but great to get a make it to the finish!

crap start for me after much mayhem on grid & first corner, (who was the 911 that spun at the green light) didn't actually hit anyone but lots of avoiding being done which dropped me to 15th, could see Adam in the other GT40 picking his way through the field so I targeted him, caught him and tailed him for a few laps along with AJ, had a good dice with AJ for a bit then we both went wide at the corner at the bottom of the hill (what a b*tch that one is when your rear braking is set to high ) Adam passed us both, leaving me to catch up over the next few laps, (AJ seemed to disapear at this point ) caught Adam and decided to stay behind as we were to close time wise to make a move without him making a mistake, which he seemed to have trouble getting the power down out of T3 so i managed to slip passed on the straight bit just before T4, at this point Davy joined us for a three a breast meeting at the hairpin and proceeded to bugger off me n adam then yo yo'd the gap between us until the end of race nice one adam

Neil and Dave - what happened ?

I managed to load the wrong setup for the race (I must rename them sensibly), only difference between what I was using and what I had loaded was a different brake bias so I was locking up just about everytime I had to brake hard, tried to drive around it but lost the back end on lap 2 and went into the kitty litter at Rivazza. I was planning on cutting my race in half with a fuel/tyre stop halfway through but I decieded to come in at the end of lap 2, change tyres and fuel to the end. Along with another trip into the scenery this time at Villeneuve I clawed my way up until I was just a couple of secs behind PV on the penultimate lap but overcooked it at Viarante Alta and dropped back to 5th behind dobbo then my fuel warning light cam on so I took the last lap easy, short shfting and cruising to make it to the end.

Bah! One of these days I might actually get it right.

Didn't have a great race really - never really got the hang of the track. Car was understeering everywhere for some reason and I spun a few times, specially at that nasty left hander at the bottom of the hill. Kept up with PV for a while but then had to pit on lap 8 so ended up back in 10th. Regained a couple places from people pitting, but couldn't get higher than 8th

I could just leave it that really, but I feel I must explain myself.

Havnig not practised the track all week, an hours practise beforehand was never really going to stand me in good stead.

However, I got quicker, and eventually qualified with a 2:07 something. It was reasonable, and considering that I had plumped for the 906 because I was too nervous to take anything more powerful out, I was quite happy with that.

After all, experience has shown that a high position on the track doesn't mean much if you get caught in an accident.

Anyhoo, Got a pants start, with PV getting in my way causing me to slither about after havnig to avoid him, but gathered it up and set on my way.

It turned into dust bowl, and sounded/looked like a destruction derby through the first corners - as the first corner is tricky to say the least, three to four cars across adds a whole new dimension.

I tried to stay clean and get out smoothly but I got taken out.

Three times.

I appeared back on the track in about 12th, and quickly nipped back through the pack in two or three corners, the 906 proving to be rather nimble in tighter corners, which helps when you are slicing through the pack. Got back up to about 7th, until *can't remember who but want to kill them* took me out on the downhill corners - effectively burying me in the sand, and meaning it took AGES to get out of the kitty litter.

Again I got back onto the course.

In 15th (I think).

*grr*

I tried to do s few quick laps, which were interesting, seeing as my car now did not want to give me any front end grip, meaning I lost a lot of time feathering the accelerator trying to coax it round.

I pitted around the 5th lap, and found, to my horror, that my bodying needed repair, and my suspension REPLACING!

I didn't want to do another race sat in the pits waiting for my YTS pit crew to fix the bloody thing, so a quick fuel and I set off again.

Even further back...

But I plodded on, and slowly got up to 12th as people began to spin off - hell I even managed to keep pace with Ian for a but, but even that was too much. I caught up with Holst and tussled with him a bit. I was desperate to get past - the 906 proving to be much quicker than his elan, but by god did he drive defensively (Holst, you really do need to calm down the blocking) and he suceeded in taking me out. Three times.

Eventually patience paid off and Holst fell off, leaving me to catch Lockstock2SB, who gave me a run, but again, I sat patiently, and he fell off

Up to tenth and a couple of laps to go, but I managed to fend off LS2B all the way, and eventually got a well feckin' earned tenth.

The overall feeling for me:

The race for me was determined by other peoples mistakes

Ah that was you who benefitted from my last lap error was it !? Nerves got the better of me as i saw you gaining on me - my tyres were shot and the brakes went off massively so i had to slow down. Unfortunately i underestimated the loss of traction and went off for a spot of lunch and watched your infernal 906 take the place

I had an absolute blinder of a last ditch qualifying attempt - 1 minute to go and i put in a respectable 2.05 thanks to sa few well chosen setup changes. My previous best was 2.09 !

It appears my new netgear router is causing some lag occasionally (locally and at your ends) so i apologise to anyone who i might of been inadvertently distracted (by me lagging) and caused them to have an off. If i can't find a solution to the lag then i may need to remove it from the scenario for next race.

I'll be the first to put my hand up and admit i'm no aryton senna, and probably have been a bit of a hinderance the last couple of races, but i'd also like to point out that of the last 3 races - i have been punted off every time from someone from behind going into a corner on a legitimate line (and i was in a pretty decent postion also). An example is the first chicane on imola. We all came into the corner at a respectable speed and lined up for a tidy entry/exit (when i say tidy i mean i leave the door a bit open and take it a bit slower than i would like to avoid any carnage), and from way back someone still manages to punt me into the litter because they seen it as a green light to try and make a place up and pull some overly-aggressive jostling. Thats not the way to race in my opinion.

I understand we (me probably more than most) make mistakes but a race cannot be won on turn 1 so perhaps we need to keep calm though the first turn or so before pushing for positions. Theres notthing more infuriating than having your race ruined by an over-excited late braker...

Thats the first race i've managed to complete in the championship, so lets hope things improve from here on in.

Steve

(Yellow 911)

A cp race for me, but at leat i finished this one

Qualified really well by my standards (6th)

I had been doing all my practicing with 10 laps of fuel and forgot to up this to 16 before the start, and then got off the line slowly and was passed by a couple of 906s

Missed my braking point into the first chicain and nurfed one of the 906s, sorry

Then think I had a good couple of laps until I crashed into the car stuck on the grid FOR THE THIRD TIME IN THREE RACES (hopefully that will be it now, things come in 3s and all that)

I got myself back onto the track and heading towards the first chicain side by side with a 906, but my car was heavily damaged didn't realise until I got into third gear when the steering was going from left to right on it's own. So i'm again sorry to the 906 which I took out going into the first chicain, just hope it wasn't the same car!

So I limped round the circuit in 2nd gear before I could enter the pits, where I spent the next 2½ minutes

Came out over 1 lap behind last place and completed the remaing 10 or so laps at quite a good pace. I unlapped myself from a few cars and managed to get into 16. Then chassed LockStock and another car (Adam?)for my last two laps, but as they were (i think) 10th and 11th they must have been a lap ahead anyway

So all in all a bit pants really

Cheers 4WD - i'll check it again and see what i can do. After i finished i did make a point of checking the updates but i dont think there was any....

Its really bizarre because my crappy belkin router which kept switching itself off didnt cause me any issue in-race, but this new and supposedly better netgear item is causing a problem. Maybe its something to do with the way it handles the data/traffic. It feels like it does it in bursts as opposed a stream... weird....

Did/does everyone still pit?

Yogi - did you intend to pit, I just notice you started with full fuel.

Don't think i started with full fuel (I thought I had about 10 laps worth)? Although starting with full fuel was my plan (was it decided all 76 cars had to do fuel stop?).

I was planning to pitting around half distance to make the most of new tyres, as towards the end of the race I had a couple of offs. As it was my car was undrivable by the 3rd or 4th lap so had to pit earlier than I had intended.

You got me Mr Yogi when I came out from my pit stop, could hear you on my left but you were in my blind spot then WHAM......

Didn't make much difference other than letting FWD steam up behind me and pass, was never going to match his pace anyway so no harm done.

That was my worst circuit anyway, managed to Quali in 9th or 10th and finished a respectable 7th I think. It's all a bit of a blur other than the near race long dabble with Uncle Dave, who managed to throw himself off the track on the last lap after finally passing me.

Anyway, next race I should have my new pc all up and running max detail here I come.....

I really enjoyed the race.

Qualified fairly badly but Im pretty poor on that track.

Got a great start thanks to the carnage further up the grid, I think I got into 6th ofthe start (gaining 7 or 8 places)

Managed to keep it together for about 5 laps or so untill people started catching me, then I had several spins in a row that dropped me down.

Gained quite a few places once the GT75 guys pitted, but they all quickly passed me.
Watching FWD fly past when he lapped me was sobering.

Towards the end of the race I had either broken something or my rear tires were dead as the car was very loose under braking.

Sorry about blocking you neil, I think with hindsight I would have been much better off letting you past and keeping it clean. One problem I had was that I dont have any rear view mirror when Im using the view where you can see the car, so although I knew you were behind I wasnt sure exactly where. Can you get a rear view mirror in the out of car view?

Although im dreadfull on that track it was fun, and I should be more competitive at the next track as Ill have more practice.

I think I took a couple of other people off at various stages as well, if it was you im sorry
