Mine would be TFC (team fortress, an online half life mod). Played it for years, and thousands of hours online, without ever getting bored. Only stopped when the last of the 2000 servers dried up, as players moved on to other games. Cost to buy/play probably worked out at less than 1p per hour. RIP TFC.

I would say probably World of Warcraft, last time I checked online I had spent 14 whole days of my life on there. Played TFC for a fair bit too. PGR2 has to rank up there, time spent chasing those platinums.

I'm up to about 400 hours in the past year on World of Warcraft, which is quite worrying considering I'm a very casual player compared to most!

Civilisation I/II/III - not got IV yet as I don't want to be unemployed
Championship Manager (various) I used to play this at Uni and would frequently sit down after Neighbours (well I was a student!) and next look at the clock at about midnight.

Super EF2000, only stopped playing it a year ago, got it in 1998, now the IL2 series has taken over all my time.

Quake, Unreal Tournament, Command And Conquer and Counterstrike have to be the most played IMO

TFC, simply awesome prior to TF1.5 and probably still the definitive team based FPS for me.
DAoC was also very very good, but I've never really managed to get that into other MMORPGS. Don't really have the time so much anymore I suppose

Post 1.5, it was still possible to straff jump, and if you put in the hours practising, you could get the HW guy up to any speed (except medic/scout) Oh the memories

Valve keep letting out rumours about Team Fortress 2, when I last read about it (about 5 years ago now) it resembled something like Battlefield 2, but 90% of the ideas that were supposed to be in TF2 have already appeared in BF2 so I guess they've gone back to the drawing board and are thinking up some other direction to take it in.

I gave up on-line multi-player games 15 years before most people started.

Yup, there were some cool videos floating about at the time though, it looked good. It just never came out

My two most played Atari ST games were Barbarian...

And super sprint

And commando on the C64.

Stunt Car Racer on the Amiga!

Also on the Amiga, Iron Man's Super off Road

Note the automotive theme

Conc jumps ruled prior to 1.5 though... battlement to battlement on 2Fort in the blink of a eye Things slowed down so much after that it just wasn't the same game and that's before you even get into the rampant cheating in the immediate aftermath (fakeloss cheat anyone!) or the fact that Valve forced a change to the min specs and some of the people I used to play with couldn't anymore... All a long time ago now though

I used to have this Ironman Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road...! Cool.

Most played for me must be the following... :

Indianapolis 500 on the PC (30+fps even on my i286-12 and cool AdLib soundcard support)
4D Sports Driving on the PC (only went well when I got my i486DX2-66)
Indycar Racing "I'm Paul Page, from Papyrus. This is Indycar Racing"...
Rally Trophy. Ran great on my GeForce2 powered PII-400.
Now it's Gran Turismo (all of them) on PSX and PS2.
GTA Vice City and San Andreas although the latter harder to get into due to lack of 80's cheese.

The cheating was awful! [brag mode]I was accused of cheating in most games, not that I ever cheated, I just played far too much [/brag] Its only a game, but it felt bloody good getting into your groove after 8 hours play for the umpteenth night in a row and being able to jump round any corner playing any class, and waste 3-4 players plus a few sentries, grab the flag, and kill the same 3-4 players as they respawned on my way back to base

I miss those servers. It has a lot to do with age, the fact that I spend my time doing other things now, but it'll never be the same. And I'll never enjoy a game again as much as I enjoyed TFC. My hard core gaming days are.. snivel, sob, cry... over.
