Dijon GP in the Elan about 1:33, the E-type should be about the same..
Feck.....a jerky 1.36 at the moment.
Don't worry about that, you'll shave the time off quickly 3 secs isn't too much - and you did ask for a GOOD time
Not got the wheel and pedals sorted yet. That will help. New pc on weds. I'll be racey within a week!!

Aah so that was with the Keyboard then!! That's a very fair time with a keyboard
My fastest with the Elan in the demo was 1m 34.6s (keyboard). That was a one-off though, as I've never gotton below 1m 35s since then, despite dozens of more laps. 1m 36s is a good time on a keyboard.
By the way, is it just me, or is the Elan in the full game harder to drive than the one in the demo?

Maybe you have Traction Control on in the demo??
I might have a shot later and see what time I can manage with a wheel to hurry you along with buying one
UncleDave said:The thing is, I actually did buy a wheel, but accidentally cut the USB cord while opening the packaging (I was using a pair of scissors)! That will teach me to be more careful about where I stick blades into wrappers.

D_Mike said:Yes, I did that about an hour ago. It's not as easy as just crimping wires though, since USB cables consist of 5 separate threads, made of very fine wiring. Stripping the wires was a bit tricky, as was joining them and covering them up. It's working, but I'm going to make it a bit more robust tomorrow.
can you not just rewire the wire?
At the moment, I'm taking a break from a 6 lap stint at Dijob GP in an Elan. All aids off, of course, except auto-clutch. My best so far is 1:39.6. It's slow, but considering my initial lap time of almost 2 minutes, it's not too bad.
Very interesting playing with a wheel and pedals.

Sigh, still only 1:38.2.
You might find it easyer to get afast lap if you play with the setup of the car a bit.
1.38 is still pretty good for the elan on digon, I might have a quick blast now and see if I can do any better.
EDIT - Just did a 1.33.5 after 4 laps, but the setup was a bit on the safe side so I think I can shave off a few 10ths.
