Hello!

Couple of (possibly niave) questions about the 360, apologies if this is old ground!

How useful is it at effectively putting my front room TV onto my network? Ie can it act as a net browser, media viewer, etc etc.

Currently just have a wireless router which my Desktop & laptop use for access and transfering files etc between them, then I have a Linksys wireless apapter thingy for my (Mk1) Xbox for 'Xbox live' Presumably I could just plug a 360 in it's place and all would "just work" ?

Bit green in these departments, so none too technical on the replies please!

Thanks!

Mr E

Media viewer if you have a PC with Media center that it can talk to. Otherwise it'll stream music from your 2000/XP box.

And yes, just plug the thing into your network (depending on setup, you may need to allow it through the firewall, but if the Xbox works I guess the 360 will too).

nope, although this might be in an update. You can however connect it to a media center and there is a plugin available to use a browser from your media center interface. It is a bit basic though.

The Xbox will happily connect to an XP pc for pictures and music but you will need a media center for streaming movies or for any album art etc. The standard xbox interface is a bit basic but the media center interface is brilliant. Apparently is it better than using a media center pc on your tv!

There is loads on the internet for the xbox connectivity.

Is the wireless adaptor one where you plug an ethernet cable in the back and it connects to your wireless lan? If so, it should work with the xbox although a wired connection is much better.
