ok so not top down, double dragon style i got it now
a 'run and gun'
i used to work at team17 hence the 'kick myself' part.
right them, err, can't think of anything. can't remember what was two player or not, turrican ? hyper dyne sidearms, gunstar heros, ikari warriors(that was topdown), cant remember if metal slug was on the amiga.
silkworm was he heli and vehicle, so not that either.

Where they 2 player?.
I do actually remember a game on the Amiga that me and my mate used to love playing.
It played from right to left which was different, they were normal looking blokes and collected power ups iirc.
I had a LOT of amiga games though so i'm buggered if i can remember what it was called lol.

The site you looked through made my eyes water. I had a similar problem, couldn't find the games in there...they I realised that for every letter, there were several pages!
I'm sure you aren't as silly as me, and didn't make that mistake..
