Depends what spec you want i suppose, but overclockers.co.uk do a 19"
widescreen model for example for about £130 inc.

It's just a case of hunting about really once you find one you like
to see who can do the best deal.

You could also try places like Dabs etc.

thanks for the quick reponse and info, i will check out Dabs.... but I'm a little in the dark as to what to look for, dont want anything fancy but also want it to last a couple of years plus I play games a fair bit so is there a monitor that is better for this 'main' use?

ebuyer have a fairly decent looking 20" TFT which will run at 1400x1050 - which isn't bad.

I can't see a downside with a quick glance over the specs, and it's less than £150.

Failing that I have a dell 17" you can have for a few beer tokens, but I'd wager delivery will make it not worth while, unless you are in the area at all and want to collect it.

I've got an old 19" CRT I was going to take to the dump. It works ok, just starting to lose brightness (have to run at 100% brightness to get normal looking picture).

thanks for all your info guys, I found that one of our old wide screen TVs in storage had a VDU input and it seems to work a treat, bit big on the desk though 36" hehe

thanks again!

the 21" looks like a bargain but I have the option of DVI output on my graphics card, is there much difference between DVI and analogue performance?

Yes, DVI is much clearer and you should use it whenever you can over standard VGA. You might not notice it so much if you only play games but it makes text much more readable.
