That's it really, I can't find anything that I like....I've tried FEAR, good, but no HL, Doom, too dark and predictable.....so any FPS that I'd like out there??

Homeworld, great strategy game, anything else like it would be great, but I can't find anything...

Have you tried any of the established titles?

Warcraft III?

Battlefield 2?

Call of Duty 2?

SWAT4?

When you set a benchmark like Half Life and Homeworld, there aren't a lot of titles that can match your expectations.

Not tried Warcraft or SWTA4, might give those a look, TA. CoD and Battlefield are ok..ish. But they have little replay factor for me.

Max Payne, been there done that on the original, (ground breaking) and Max 2, almost as good, Serious Sam, great for a blast, but again, been there done that. NOLF...not for me I'm afaraid.

Haven't tried Darkstar or X3, might give those a look.

Thanks

A nice cowboy FPS.

Have you tried the Halflife expansions? I'm currently playing Episode 1. Not bad IMHO.

Battlefield 2 if you into multiplayer.

Hitman (any of them) are great fun and a style of their own.

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter: amazing graphics, really hard tho.

Could I just add Doomsday as well - www.doomsdayhq.com/

Play Doom, Doom II, Doom add-ons, Heretic & Hexen all in full mouse look-3D-a-vision. Still good fun.

Seriously look at this even if you played the original Doom all those years ago, the updates are amazing and playing it on "nightmare" is still a very tough challenge.

Homeworld cataclysm and Homeworld 2 done, HW2 quite difficult, took me a while I quite enjoyed it, though the music was better in HW original.
Painkiller was funny to start out with, but I got bored......ho hum....Farcry, I just thought that graphically it was over rated, and couldn't get into it...

Other games I found funny were things like MDK2, an absolute hoot.....where else do you find a six legged dog carrying a pair of Uzi's.....
Never been a Quake fan as such, Unreal I really used to like, but it hasn't moved on, even in multiplayer mode I've been using it for about 6 years or more.....just an occasional blast at a LAN do now...

Thanks guys, it seems I might have
a, been spoiled &
b, set my sigths too high after HL 1,2 Blue shift, Opposing foce, all the addons, ( I used to have several GB of them)
I guess I've just got to be patient.

Rewgards
kevin.

Just to correct myself, Darkstar one delivered from the likes of Play for 17.99, so it is out

regarding strategy games I have always loved the Warhammer 40k stuff, recent expansion for that out soon.

Didn't like prey too quick too easy and you can't die.
Just got original DOOM and expansions for £7.98, retro blasting commence.
