Was playing it this morning, quite enjoyed it, but i kept getting booted from the servers with "lost connection" messages :/

Never get that on anything else, so it must be game related.

Looks like the cheaters have been messing with it too...sigh.

So you have to pre-order it and pay $50 before you can download and try the demo irked

Any chance of cancelling the order if you don't like it?

Great.

It plays the intro to the mission, I create an account before I can do anything. I then go to create a soldier and it throws up a Monitor Warning saying "Frequency is out of range". I have to CTRL ALT DEL to get rid of it, try to start the demo again and it immediately shows this warning.

Exactly it says

"Attention"
94k / 144hz
Frequency is out of range

No kidding, I run my monitor at 75hz, I think it'd throw a fit if it tried to run at 144hz !!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there no way way of setting the config settings without running the game?

Everything else (other games) are fine.

If you look at the EA forums there are several tips to get the demo working (one includes downloading a missing DLL, which I needed to do).

Once working its very good, far more fast paced than BF2, in fact I would go so far as to call it "bloody frantic". The Walkers are pretty good fun, as cumbersome as they look, but very satisfying lumbering into a base and letting rip with the miniguns on all the ground troops stupid enoughb not to have heard you coming.

Got the full game on pre-order and don't think I'm going to cancel after playing the demo for an hour or so thumbup

All you have to do is install the very latest DX9c update, you may already have DX9c but you won't have this update if you are getting the dll error.

From here, Microsoft download centre link - CLICK HERE
