Anyone got this yet?

My bro scooped it up on the weekend, the single player mode is SOLID and to be honest I've been much more interested in the multiplayer aspect which i've gotta say is pretty damn good.

I'd have to say they have managed to create a game that will actually make you very nervous at times, can't say many games can put me on edge but when your an unarmed spy trying to hide in a air vent from a guard with a very large machine gun its quite nerve racking!

Upshot is for those that don't know, you can play online as either a spy or a guard (upsilon force) .Guards have basic movement and are equipped with an assault rifle/grenade launcher/torch + a remote control explosive drone which can be piloted around and exploded to get rid of that pesky spy.

Spys are unarmed and have the task of remote hacking terminals throughout the map, equipped with a hacking device on your arm you can also use this device to disable lights/break windows and open locked doors.

BUT the spys main feature is they are basically full on ninja/acrobats so you can expect to be diving into small gaps, crawling through ventilation shafts, using cables as zip wires etc...

Its a very cool feeling when you've been spotted by a guard and in a few nifty moves you've gone from the 2nd floor in a house, dived out the window, up the drain pipe and are sat on the roof contemplating your next action whilst the guard is frantically running around looking for you!

Gets a thumbs up from me anyhow.

Hmmm.. As a long-time player of the multiplayer since it debuted in the second game I feel that they have dumbed it down far too much. Most of the tactics have been ruined, as before it was a slow game of cat and mouse, forcing players to work together, now it is just a mad dash everywhere with little in the way of tactics to show. The spies and mercs can now only pick one item from a choice of 4, whereas before you could pick 4 items to take with you from about 6 different choices. Mercs had mines that they could lay down, forcing spies to be a lot more careful when charging about.

It's still good fun, definitely a lot faster paced now which shows in the increased movement speeds of both spies and mercs, but I much preferred the old system which required a lot more thought and planning, whilst providing a much more tense experience.

Single player is indeed pretty tough if you want to nail the perfect scores for each level, tough to the point of frustrating when you come across a guard that is stood right in front of what you need, with no possible way to move him other than knocking him out (and thus ruining your perfect score). After finishing the game on sunday with the best ending there is absolutely no reward given for being invisible in each level, so you may as well kill every hostile you come across.

As for the ending itself, disappointing just about sums it up.

yea to be fair I haven't been into the previous splinter cell titles so can't really compare to previous ones.
