And if it's interior views it just depends on the mod your using.

Don't have the mirrors turned on in this shot though.

Funnily enough yes, it's where I got my cockpit screenshot a few posts up

For a beta version it's very good, only thing I can fault is (and I'm running max shadows & effects) when the car goes into a shadow on the track only the outside is in shadow the interior stays the same.

Have to say, I'm not all that impressed with rFactor.. Doesnt feel as polished as GTR, and the graphics dont seem as nice. The feel of the cars is way off what you get in LFS or GTR, and most of the addons are naff.

This might help, found this on another forum.

"As far as the tracks go, I feel the biggest difference is the amount of fog used in GTR2 as opposed to rFactor. GTR has a foggy look which I feel softens the overall appearance. You can do the same in rFactor by opening the tracks scn file and look for the fog values. You might have to play with them in order to get the look your after."

Cheers mate, I'll give that a try later.

The worst bit about rfactor is trying to find a decent server to play on!

I played with that beta version of the porsche racer above - thats excellent. Much more like GTR.

Also, played with the GPL style F1 cars - and thats amazingly good.

I guess that means I'm convinced..

Plus do have a look at SLN's track updates, he's updated and changed textures on some tracks to give a slightly different look.

Why is my Cadwell Park unplayable?

The end sector stutters like hell and has terrible FPS.

Did it always do it? Only ask as you've got some times logged on rFactor Rank in the 1979 cars a while back.

Do replays stutter? If you don't have one to hand try this one - www.mercia.biz/rfactor/Cadwell-FWD-RenF1-1m1s.Vcr

PS. That's the fastest lap I've done there so it should move quick, if it's going to stutter it'll do it on that.

Post your Gfx card and display settings in rFactor too, does it stutter only online or offline and any other track?

If it's just Cadwell I'd try deleting the Cadwell folder (move it to the desktop so you can move it back if needed) and download the latest full install of it and the patch as well - www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Cadwell%20Park

Mine always gets bad fps (30-40) going past the pits on Cadwell (and some other tracks) depending on the mod and the number of other cars. Which is really annoying as it get 200 plus at the far end nuts

I think it's because the Mod makers are using too many pollygons or not optimising the models enough. Bad mods include: MLF1's and, Alpha's. F1 '79, ETCC and V8 Factor seem much better.

It's a strange one though as I had a similar problem before, fiddled with the settings (video drivers & game) and then put them back much the same as they were and it improved Cadwell with the McF1's. However since rebuilding my PC with a better (albeit slightly) video solution it's just as bad if not worse than before confused

and I can't aford a CPU upgrade at the moment cry

I've got an X1800XT 512MB.. so should be OK even on full AA and AF settings I would have though, although I have compromised memory, and only have a Gig.

Just reinstalling Cadwell anyway, It's likely i'd end up doing it anyway

And it's like 10fps in any car on any sector.. obviously a problem rather than hardware bottlenecks yes
