Right - this thread makes the game sound awesome! I'm taking a long weekend off next week and will be buying this, LBP and maybe GOW2 and computer gaming myself to oblivion!

I will live on coke and chocolate hobnobs for 4 days.

One of the coolest things I've seen so far was when I was exploring and came across an old barn with about 6 Raiders in and around it, took a couple of them out when all of a sudden loads of bullets start flying over my head towards the barn. I turn round and there is a Brotherhood bloke mowing all the left over Raiders down with a minigunsmokin

Loving this game!

Been looking at this game for a while, running vista 64 bit, reviews suggest it works with it ok, but seems the DRM version has the latest secureROM which seems to fk up when it finds dvd burning software...

So had to go for the DRM free version and am downloading it now smile 77% done and guess another hour or so...

I just completed the main mission and it's ended the game! I was hoping it would let me continue and do the other quests after! I only got up to level 15. Dissapointed now.

Seriously? Not like Oblivion then where you can wonder around after the missions?

Nope, once the main mission is finished the game ends.

pity did not know this, but guess you could restart with explosives set to 30 or higher and blow up the nuke in megaton after getting 500 caps for disarming it smile

same as me. very disappointed, I was hoping for an Oblivion style game where the main quest is simply that not a game ending point.

load of rubbish.

Avoid the main quest then? You don't have to rush through the main quest do you?

stopped playing this morning, 4:10 am smile

what is the main quest ? as toying with the idea of nuking megaton, some very nice man has given me a device that sets it off, need to drop off some stuff to some woman who keeps wondering around the town and may as well loot the town before departing for the last time

The main quest is finding your dad and what develops from that.

I was somewhat annoyed with the game finishing too - I'm going to reload from the point where you look for the GECK and go do other stuff I think.

I'm gonna avoid the main quest until I run out of other stuff to do, can't see that happening any time soon! Finished Reilly's Rangers last night, approaching level ten.....

just got to the ghoels city thing, went to kill the woman I get asked to for exchange for a contract for a hitman there, and I killed her (plus about 90% of the other people, they kept shooting at me, what was i going to do) and then he just said dont shoot up my town o.0

I find the sledgehammer very useful, 3 hits and it kills all the robots I've ran into.

so far the best weapon's atm are the minigun, combat shotgun, sniperrifle, and the asaullt rifle.

them super mutant brutes are a pain to kill if they have a minigun, but the best thing I have found is headshot from near point blank with a combat shotgun, 1 or 2 hits to kill.

took out the behemoth with about 200 rounds from the minigun o.0 and got launched missions when it hit me with its tree.

great game, going to do all of the side missions before the main story, but can someone tell me when I am getting near the end of the main story, dont want to have loads of side missions to do after its ended

i took the item to destroy the megaton bomb then grassed the guy up to the sheriff, the guy killed the sheriff after being confronted so i robbed the sheriff, met the brotherhood of steel, killed 3 of them as well(pussys) and got a laser gatling gun for my troubles, now where were the two mutants with mini-guns hiding.....................

laser gun comes from some supermarket where there is a side mission to get drugs and food found the combat knife was more effective at close quarters, sniper rifle obtained the same way smile

read some place that if megaton is nuked, then you get other stuff opening to you smile

You also get something good if you don't nuke it wink Although I don't know what you get if you do nuke it, so maybe it's not that good ??

Well, I thought it was anyway smile

Won't do a spoiler though.

Last night I discovered that trying to take out a super mutant behemoth with a hunting rifle is a rather slow process.
Used all my other ammo taking out the hordes of super mutants around and thought it was all over until that massive bd came out.

Also ventured into vault 106, that place is just weird.
