I've got to say Point Lookout is fantastic, its gells so well with the main game.

I really didnt like Mothership Zeta, in fact I went back to a previous save because I just didnt like it.

Operation Anchorage was pretty good, plus I got the T-51 armour and Gauss rifle out of it, nice!

I have noticed that when I went to Point Lookout it told me Dogmeat would be back at Vault 101 for me, which he was and Fawkes would be outside the Museum of History, but he has disappeared. Its not a major issue as he cant be used on the expansions anyway, but I've lost a friend!

Did you find the spy place and the submarine?

I found point lookout to be one the hardest bits of the game - I was pretty glad I had some good weapons with me..

Yep Ive done the moonshine side quest, punga seeds and the Chinese spy one.

I'm not finished yet, just with that Ghoul at the mo about to go and take out Calvert at the lighthouse.

I've just been using the backwater rifle, double barrelled shot gun and gauss rifle mainly, the trackers are pretty tough though!

Fawkes is usually inside the Museum in one of the cafes I think, have a look in there. He will be around somewhere, it's very rare for him to be killed as he's so powerful, although he can sometimes get stuck in some places.

I usually leave them both in my house when I'm doing a quest they can't join me on.

I started using the Laser Mini-Gun and Rocket Launchers just to get rounds down on them before they closed in and then switch to the Lincoln Repeater. Just about get away with it, but some of the ghouls on this map are practically bullet proof...

Yeh I did leave them at the house after reading they couldn't go anyway.

Then when I returned to drop off some booty I had to go off and find them, but only returned with Dogmeat.

I am loving this game, but only started it recently, so way behind you chaps. I have just got the Ghouls to move in to Tenpenny Tower, and am heading off to look for Galaxy News Radio (I skipped GNR as part of the main quest as I went to Rivet City for Moira and completed all that).

I also have an unopened copy of Oblivion still to play.

But before I go any further I really need to get my watch fixed - last night I decided to have a quick half hour playing before I went to bed... Next thing my watch was reading 3.30am... It must be broken...

I have the same problem with my watches.

Frankly, I'm getting sick of having to replace them constant;y!! hehe

Playing through this again whilst I wait for New Vegas.

Still playing as 'mainly' good, but limiting my self to; Explosives & Unarmed weapons only. Dressed in my Cowboy Duster & Cowboy hat (thanks Lucas Simms), Deathclaw Gauntlet, and with a fair few Nuka-grenades at my side.......it certainly makes things interesting smile

Nothing quite as satisfying as taking out a cave of Yao Guai's with a few cans of 'Soda', and 'almost' bare hands smile

I agree. It's very tedious and I almost did what you did when I played through the 2nd time.

This game is a time vampire.

The trouble with doing that is that you are left with less traders after the dust settles, limiting your trading options.

No great concern, a couple of the ghouls will trade and one (the one with the motorcycle helmet) tends to offer good prices.

This is why I am loving the game so much, you never quite know if you are making the right decision, and most decisions have some sort of implication later on, usually unexpected.

Finished Fallout 3 but have decided to backup my saved games and start again. It is a very addictive game like oblivion. Didn't get the bobblehead from ravenwood before it blew up.

Trouble is it keeps crashing occasionally when it autosaves which is very annoying. I'm running it on an i7, 6G RAM, 2 x Geforce GTX275's SLI'ed, running at 1920x1200 with everything full on, and Windows 7 (64).

Does anyone know how I get the alien weapon without actually doing the addon alien quest on the alien ship. Everytime I get close to the crashed alien ship it starts the quest. I suppose you can disable the alien quest somewhere.

Ah, I didn't set it to easy but I did collect a lot of guns, and they are worth serious caps back on earth. Every now and again I'd pop back up to the ship and collect another gun or three..

You could just move the Mothership Zeta content, get the weapon, and then move it back?

Has anyone else got the Firelance? Still chuffed that I managed to get that!

Another laaaaaate session on this game last night... It's going to be a long day... Chin up though - it's squirrel-bits for lunch!

Anyway, I am really taking my time exploring, but not progressing with the main task (I just keep getting side-tracked). This means I am rapidly approaching the level 20 cap, but haven't got even half way through the game. Is it best to finish the main game then get Broken Steel to extend it from there, or should I just add Broken Steel now so I don't waste any xp by being stuck at lvl 20?

I have read that the game ending changes when you add BS?

It doesn't change as such, but unless you add Broken Steel the game will actually end, you won't be able to continue exploring and any unfinished side quests will remain unfinished. All you can do is load an earlier save and avoid finishing the main quest.

For this reason I would add Broken Steel before you reach the end of the main quest! It's a bit of a con really, it should have been part of the original game.

Regarding the levelling issue, I don't think that's a major issue being a high level while still having a lot of quests to do, if it were the other way round you might have a problem (since quests are the best way of levelling generally).
