Thanks Neil, that clears it up, might just as well add it now then. I think I am right in thinking it adds some new enemies and ups the difficulty a bit, which is no bad thing... Giant Albino radscorpions etc.

Though not sure my heart can take it. Last night I was exploring Hamiltons hideaway looking for the weapons cache, dealt with a couple of radscorpions, when a giant one crept up behind me - I jumped about 3 feet in the air - that'll learn me for playing in the dark at 2am.

Ha ha. Yeah I had one of those. A deathclaw crept up on me unnoticed and took a swipe at me and I jumped out of my skin. Fortunately I was wearing Hellfire Power Armour and carrying Vengeance, so it didn't last long against withering retaliatory fire. hehe

Just picked this up again having not played it since September last year! I got to the end before Broken Steel was available and got distracted by other things.. Bet you can't get what I'm downloading now!

Hmm, I am feeling really guilty today...

I rigged the election at the Republic of Dave, and when Dave lost he went off into the wasteland in a huff... I thought he would stand no chance out there on his own so I followed him, but try as I might, he just kept getting involved in fights he couldn't handle and eventually he got killed. RIP Dave

I kind of feel responsible...

Though he had some OK stuff when I looted his still warm corpse biggrin

I shot Dave in the face. With a shotgun. Many times.

Meh! tongue out

No I just always nuke Megaton and then get her quests from Underworld after telling her I nuked it. For fun... and caps.

I couldn't get the poxy election rigged - they were all blindly going to vote for Dave. So I shot him.

I've just spent the last 2 months playing this - loved it!

What amazes me is that you can rattle through the main story pretty quickly and without any need to visit even half the locations on the map. There are still many you wouldn't need to find even when completing all the other quests and trophies/achievements! A vast game then, but by then end I wasn't so bothered about exploring anymore.

Indeed, you don't need to visit half the places to complete the game (actually, I'd say it's far less than a third, given I've got I think 160 locations on my map) BUT most of the fun of this game to me is to womble off into the desert, find a random place, go on a random quest.. Whilst trying to complete that quest, you end up somewhere else, and get another quest....

There are just so many different things you can do, and you can ruin shops and so on (when I kidnapped a shop owner and sold him into slavery for example, even after I rescued him again he refused to sell me weapons - ungrateful git), but then find another place to trade weapons or health kits etc..

There are so many permutations to the game - even down to getting a ghoul mask and then going down all the tunnels and being left along by the ghouls... (though I may or may not have shot some of them in the head whilst they were sitting around)...

I can still hear that stupid gravelly voice of the ghoul. Roy? Blammo!! I had Tenpenny Towers all to myself. hehe

Roy was a weapons-grade bellend. It's just a shame his companions turn hostile when you inevitably snap and kill him as they're ok.

The guy with the motorbike helmet? Big mistake killing him, he buys weapons for lots of caps and sells them to you cheaply too (and ammo - he usually has lots of .45 ammo etc..).

Big mistake? I was about level 20 by then with endless caps. I didn't need no god-damn ghoul. silly

Not long until Vegas now!

Yeah, me too but I still like a bargain - and he pays so much money for laser weapons from the Alien ship...

I've just finished the Broken Steel expansion, which is well worth doing as it follows the original storyline.

Some awesome new weapons in the heavy incenerator and tesla cannon.

It is rather amusing running into raiders with some of the new weapons, because one strike with a heavy incernator kills a raider.

It also has some of the best action of the whole game.
