£29 for the standard 360 and PS3 versions in Sainsburys, apparently.

I swore I'd wait for this until I'd completed Dead Space (which I bought last Friday and haven't found time to play yet!) but I can see this making it doubly-difficult to resist temptation....

My advice to anyone dithering or unsure is to get this bought and devote ALL your gaming time to it, I reckon this is going to be game of the year for me based on the couple of hours I spent on it last night. I can see this swallowing up as much of my time as oblivion if not more. The only slight critisism I would have is the 3rd person view isn't up to GTA IV standards, he seems to be walking straight whilst travelling sideways a bit. Minor gripe but the only one I can think of so far......

And therein lies the problem!

Oblivion swallowed up 160 hour of my life by the time I gave up on it. I can see F3 taking over to the same extent, so it makes more sense to get other games out of the way before I open this particular can of post-apocalyptic worms.

Still, odds on I've bought a copy by the end of the weekend. Curse you, my lack of will power! biglaugh

Sainsbury's is just over the road from me!

For £30 it would be rude not too!

Got this yesterday, put it on for an hour, got bored, went back to Dead Space.

I will give it a chance and put some more time into it, but first impressions are poor frown

I got 'stuck' in the scenery at least 3 times, had to do all sorts of crouching, jumping and spinning to get my legs out of rocks frown

Graphics are poor and all the conversations are doing my head in a bit.

Also, if you shoot someone in the head with a 10mm pistol, you expect them to die, so imagine my suprise when I emptied at least 4 point blank shots into someones head whilst in Megaton and they just jumped up and ran off !?!?

Current state of mind with regards to this game : Regretting the purchase already frown

Still, as I said, I will give it a chance after I have finished Dead Space (which should be tonight smile )

At the moment, I can see this getting traded next week for GOW2.

On the plus side, afer an hour of Fallout, Dead Space looked so much better when I went back to it, it played better, felt smoother and was all together more polished.

It is both 1st and 3rd person at the touch of a button.

First person is where you are looking through the characters eyes, third person is where the camera is behind them and you can see the character running in front of you.

It's similar to Oblivion, open world, you can do pretty much anything you want, set in Washington DC after a nuclear war

Are we playing the same game? It is stunning! I've had to stop a few times and just go 'woah'.

Indeed we are, but compared to Dead Space (and many others), Fallout 3 is not that good frown

I sort of noticed it when I was in Vault 101, but when I got outside, it just looked bad.

Put it this way, like the Orange Box, you can tell it is PC of origin, not a nice smooth polished made for console game.

One thing that's annoying me at the moment is the complete lack of health pick-ups and, particularly, ammunition. Can never find any anywhere!

Got this sat beside me on the desk........ have to go over to a mate's tonight to like... eat dinner, and hang around with friends and socialise all that rubbish.

Looking forward to some quality time with my Xbox later on!

Interesting tip re: ammo - I hate running out of ammo so I will keep an eye on it.

Every time I play these "choose your alignment" games like Knight of the Old Republic and Mass Effect, I end up a right goody two shoes. I am planning to be a right murderous bd in this one.

Well I just been to my local Media World here in Italy, and it's nowhere to be seen! I will have to order it from Amazon (half the cost if Dead Space and Far Cry 2 are anything to go by, almost €60 just for the PC versions, and €70 for the X Box and PS3!!!!)
