Graphics are poor and all the conversations are doing my head in a bit.
Are we playing the same game? It is stunning! I've had to stop a few times and just go 'woah'.I sort of noticed it when I was in Vault 101, but when I got outside, it just looked bad.
Put it this way, like the Orange Box, you can tell it is PC of origin, not a nice smooth polished made for console game.

Not very far. Trying to find the Family, but I keep getting killed by those guys with the shells on, near the water (or in the tunnel)
Can't down them before they get me.. even using VATS on their face.
That's one of the things that's annoyed my so far, the fact you can shoot a Raider 3 times in the face with the 10mm pistol and they still won't die. Can't down them before they get me.. even using VATS on their face.
Also noticed, when you use the VATS system, your accuracy is seriously sh*t over distance. Even using a hunting rifle or assault rifle, most of your shots are way wide of the mark. I noticed that if you shoot a feral ghoul for instance in the face point blank using VATS then they often die with one shot. Case of waiting to improve your accuracy I suppose, I reckon this game's got legs and will turn out to be a stats monster like oblivion.....

I am after a sit on the sofa, chilling out in comfort, game playing session. I got fed up with sitting bolt upright at my PC to play games a long time ago
Horses for courses really. Diablo 3 and Dawn of War 2 are not going to be available for anything other than PC (well, Diablo will be out for Mac, as if anyone owns one of *those*)I've been shopping around for a 360 for a week or so now and I've not found any really stonking deals. Anyone know the best place to get a 60Gb 360 with maybe Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 or Fable 2?

One thing that's annoying me at the moment is the complete lack of health pick-ups and, particularly, ammunition. Can never find any anywhere!
I'm not far into the game at the moment but try the Supermarket outside of Megaton. As long as you can take out the Raiders and the odd Scorpion (or avoid them and duck inside, there's 3 or 4 Raiders inside that need to be taken out). I picked up some meds, Laser pistol, Assault rifle, Sawn off Shotgun, loads of mines, grenades, ammo and lovely cola. The mission to go there is from the Store in Megaton, chat with Moria and help with her "Wasteland Survival Guide", you also get a bad food processor on completing the 1st mission (removes rads from food). You can gain energy from water at the base of water towers, operate the valve multiple times to top up HP but watch the rads.
There is a lack of pick-ups but it reflects the landscape.
I must admit I'm loving it compared with Far Cry 2, Fallout 3 may not be as polished graphically as some games but it oozes atmosphere and gameplay which for me makes or breaks a game. Overall I'll give 8.5/9 outta 10.
Really enjoying this so far - although I just came up against 2 "centaurs" and an "Uncle Joe" - killing them took all the ammo in three guns, plus 6 grenades (which are really cool - VATS drops them right at the monster's feet)
My tip - never use ammo-based weapons against stuff like Mole Rats - you need it for the massive mutant freaks! Baseball Bat FTW.

I managed to pillage a 'shishkebab' (you can make them but I can't remember what kit you need) from a dead bad guy and I've maxed out my melee attacks so it only takes a couple of swipes to kill most things.
Things start getting a lot easier from Level 6 onwards. I struggled a lot with running out of health, but once you've found a couple of unclaimed beds dotted about the maps, you just go back there for a quick kip.
