I love these threads. You can normally pin down everyone's age to within 5 years by the games they post smile

There seems to be alot of people struggling to count to 10 here... And alot of people breaking the 'no series' rule, Halo 1,2 & 3 is not one game people!

Anyway GTA Vice City, COD4 and Goldeneye seem to be turning up as favourites.

Hidden and Dangerous is a good call but I couldn't include it as it was so horrifically bugged. Wish there was room for Colin Mcrae DiRT as well.

This list should leave you in no doubt that I grew up in the 80's!

I've dug out some YouTube links in case you're a youngster with a shiny new Wi-BoxStation 5 who wasn't around when computer games were 'proper' !

Elite (Amiga) - consumed many many hours when i should have been doing my school homework! Seem to recall much lost sleep when trying to destroy the 'Constrictor' on one of the 'secret' missions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFXgqrid6tA

The Secret of Monkey Island (the first one!) - the first point and click adventure game I played...great sense of humour....who could forget the 'rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle'?!?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFPFFZs5m_w

The Curse of Monkey Island (the third one!) - the voice acting is brilliant and there are some great laugh-out-loud moments. And this catchy little tune....

Half Life 2 - Really loved the first one but the sequel (and Episode 1/2) is absolutely epic, seemlessly merging film-like storytelling and pacing with fun gameplay. Its just so.....errrr....atmospheric! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKA7JkV51Jw

Sim City - I remember having a serious conversation with my geography teacher about whether I should build a nuclear or coal-fired power station in my city when I got home from school. The first ever 'edutainment' game that was actually fun? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzHVcvZw_7Q

Speedball 2 - I remember my mate and I constantly breaking our Amiga joysticks trying to outdo each other on this. The violence regularly spilled over into real life with dead arms meted out as the infamous 'ICE CREAM! ICE CREAM!' rang out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6Tjf5U8TT0

Xenon 2 Megablast - At the time, the combo of Bomb the Bass' awesome theme tune and the cool-as-feck Predator-like alien shopkeeper was unbeatable. Christ, games were so much harder then when you couldn't save! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCAUTrgso8k

Wings - Absolutely f***ing loved this game. I seem to recall it was around the same time that Blackadder Goes Forth was on telly, so the ability to give 'the Hun' a damn good hiding on the Amiga was extremely cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEIARv4zpCk

Call of Duty 1 - They're all good but the first one sticks in my mind because of the bit where you arrive in Stalingrad, which is incredibly immersive and actually gives you a sense of how horrendous it all was. Brilliant.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Again, love the series but this is my fave because of the soundtrack. In what other game can you hoon about in a sports car around a Miami-esque city in a white suit casually hosing pedestrians with an Uzi whilst listening to Crockett's Theme?!?!? The music was never as good in San Andreas or GTA4...

Damn, that's ten already! Had to leave out so many other greats! Wings of Fury! TV Sports Basketball! Turrican! Streetfighter 2 on SNES! Command and Conquer! Project X! Starfox! F-19 Stealth Fighter! F-18 Interceptor!

Sh$t...just realised i forgot Flashback as well! getmecoat

Can we do Top 100's ? wink
