Forza 3 - paint jobs

I set about turning my C class MX5 (with a tiny 220bhp, but still faster than a lot of big US V8 barges , especially around Fujumi Kaido!) into an evil Japanese Tomato monster.





It was 3am, give me a break!

This painting lark is something that I would like to get into as I have some ideas of my own. I guess it just takes time and patience like you say.

Do you know if there are any guides for painting cars in Forza 3? I know you have to layer the images or something so it's not like painting a picture.

Also, sorry to sound dumb, but how do you get the car pics out of Forza and into a format which you can paste on here?

Go to the Forza website, sign in under your Gamertag and then download the picture. You'll have to upload it somewhere else first though, then link to it on here.

you can do that, but i havent, i just took a picture of the screen on my iphone, emailed it to myself, saved it then uploaded via the Beta thing on PH simples.


With regard to the painting, im no expert by any means, some of the cars you see are simply mind blowing, i bought an E30 m3 in FM2 that was picture perfect replica of the warsteiner cars.

The PH logo i did i found easy, as i did one for FM2.

basically its a series of circles that get smaller. so if i want a black circle with a white rim around it... you make one big black circle, then a smaller white one inside it, then make a smaller black one inside that. you finish up with a black circle with a white pin stripe.

it works the same for all the bits on the PH logo, its shapes covered by shapes. PM me if you like and as im over at GF's tomorrow ill be bored while shes at work, i can do a step by step of the PH logo.

for the PH police car, do you rekon S60 or Saab 9'3??

Thanks peoples.

I did manage to find a Forza 2 guide just now so i'll apply the same principles to 3. Shapes on shapes eh, sounds good.

I must say that some of the designs are indeed amazing and you wonder how much time went into them. They also look so good in Forza 3 (they finally have the graphics standards to make them look spot on!).

I think it is a real shame we can't transfer designs from 2 to 3. because I've spent f*cking hours on a few designs.

Yeah i havent tried sending them yet, but i cant see why you couldnt, that or gift me the car and ill put it on. as im putting them up for sale.. and wouldnt charge a ph'er!!

Graham, you should do one of the red Met cars. Last one i saw was a 5 series, looked very different. Would be a good design. Either that, or Kent cars in silver look pretty good.

Yeah, that would be great! I'm actually getting it tomorrow once it's released, so once i've had a mess around tomorrow night and got some cars in the garage, I'll send you over a Saab or BMW or something similar. Cheers

no problem matey. i can do the M5 but i thought it was a bit OTT for a plod car! wouldnt take me long to transfer it onto one if you would like one though.
