Let me know if there is a race on - I'm going to be on for a few hours now.
Will do. I'm just having some grub then I'll host a room for a couple of races on this track & class.

BTW, I've not checked, but if/can you turn collisions off, does it mean you get bh time when you draft?
I guess that if collisions are of then it won't draft?

Anyway, let us know when you're on - you have my GT? Not sure if I have you on friends list.

I'll let you know, but I've had a little COD distraction.

Started using the Toms, it's great!

Ok - I'll be up for about another hour - I'm in Dubai so it's quite late now.

Im still using auto, people keep saying that i should switch to manual but i just keep missing gears. Just cant be arsed to practise i suppose.....
what times you getting?
Cant better a 2:02 in the Diablo. Just switched to the Toms MRS with manual and got down to 2:01. More practise and maybe this manual thing will start coming good.

I'm in love with the Tom's MRS (always looks like I'm talking about Tom's wife). It is so reactive you just gotta be careful about how twitchy it can be around corners. I spent a fortune doing up a 69 Z as there are a few on the leaderboards but I just couldn't get the corners smooth enough frown Waste of 150k

For me, the Toms is head and shoulders above the other cars, I'm 3 seconds quicker in it than in my next best.

Right, just a little heads up about a cheaper way to do the TT....

You don't have to buy the car or buy any upgrades at all to compete,it can be done for nothing or whatever the storefront tuning set up costs, usually about 10,000.

In the above example,go to storefront and choose the Subaru 22b and choose what class you want.

This will bring up a list of B class tunes to buy. Press X and scroll through to most downloaded tunes which is a good indication of how good they are.

Buy the tune for free,10,000 credits or whatever and save the tune.

Start up Hotlap, choose the 22B from the manufactures list which is free and go to the circuit.

On the circuit screen, before you press A to load it, it will ask you to load/tune the car first so press A and load the tune. It will then tell you the changes to the car i.e. class, weight,hp etc and ok that and away you go.

Costs nothing or a few thousand credits.

Hope that was easy to follow..!!!!!

Search storefront for:

B class

Toyota
Toms MR-S (make sure it's the Toms one, not the normal MRS)

(Don't select a track)

The press x to change the order and you get the list ordered by most downloaded, and...

it was the most downloaded set up, but it does cost $50k!

I'm on a 1.54.9 now, but can't quite get Asterix!

I tried it too but couldnt beat my 22b time.
Everyone i race against with the Toms seems to have more acceleration all the way down the straight. It does have a lot of cornering grip though.

I'm done.

I'm only 0.3 of Asterix, but its taken me well over 100 laps to get this close, and I'm giving up. However, keeping my fingers crossed for a good position this week, 'cos I'm off to bed!

Good track choice Featherz! thumbup Really enjoyed this week.

Asterix you are an animal squire!

I haven't had time to break the 1:55s.

Can someone tell me, realistically, how much difference does manual with clutch make on lap times over manual without clutch?

I am down to 1:55.7 and following your Ghost... I really don't know how you start the lap with so much speed, it takes me 3/4 of the lap to catch you back up and then I managed to get alongside you and lose it all in the last three corners... so frustrating (though I can see where you could find those 3/10ths biggrin - in the mid section)

Going to keep trying though.

I'm certain I could find 3/10ths, but I'm not going to...

It took me long enough to get that! biggrin

The 2nd right hander is where I carry lots of speed. I found the trick was to stay full throttle after the first corner, through the second, then stay full throttle for the 3rd corner (2nd right hander) but shift into 4th, which helped keep the car on the racing line and gaining speed. In fact, I come out that corner ahead of Asterix. He gets me in the middle section. In fact, in the last few corners I draw him back in, but he is faster down the start finish straight.
