The Merc DTM car as first suggested, surely because this is PH, we can trust each other to be honest about our times.

If we pick just R2 callss only, all we'll see at the top is that Mazda Dyson thing.

Not very exciting is it.
ah damn, that's very true, cant that mazda even get down into R3!?
I have that Mazda down to S, though I dont know if it can hit all points in between.

Alternatively if its car specific and no tuning you can use the official time trial section. For Silverstone its the R class Aston, tho I cant remember what that is as standard

Bugger - I thought it would be simple.

I'll have a look tonight to see what the other options could be.

I find Silverstore very difficult. I think it's because the track is so flat and not many reference points for breaking / turn-in etc. One of my least favorite tracks in Forza.

I agree, never been a fan of the track either, so do we have a decision on class of car for this weeks challenge?

Ok - had a look at the leaderboard for R2 Class @ Silverstone.

The only friends list bloke I have with the Mazda with the fastest lap is TheJackal GN with a 1:38.

The top 10 are in the 1:31s

I reckon that we should still go with the Merc Touring Car as we should be around the 1:35s and most people will set a faster time than anything they've done previously on that track.

If anyone has done faster then perhaps honesty is the best way.

I really want to do an R class this time and don't have any other solution.

Thoughts please.

Anybody not using their time in the leader board could post up a screen shot (camera pic) with the correct car in and the time will be visible?

I think doing 1:35s will be rather tricky, I just did a few laps and could manage a 1.40 but dont think i could shave off an entire 5 seconds from that.

It's upto you seeing as you won the last trial Asterix, but in the actual timetrials part of the game (Leaderboards > Time Trials) the Silverstone GP is done using an R2 #009 Aston DBR9, so unless you really specifically wanted to use the Merc DTM cars that might be an avenue to explore?

I like the idea of identical cars, it would be a nice leveler.

Of course it requires a little bit of honesty, perhaps a birds custard tin system biggrin?

Seriously though, I know I've not set a time in that class for that track yet... Can't be many who have surely?

Merc Touring Car. Silverstone. As far as I can see. And if you've set a faster R2 time then post up some evidence of your Merc Touring Car time.

It's undrivable unless you do!

I always drive with no aids (clutch doesn't count in my book) and I'm using TCS this time.

Why do I always choose cars/tracks that I'm crap at hehe

Make sure you do it in the time trials section tho mate, only the #009 or we're not gunna be able to record our scores...

...so i'm slightly hijacking here but:

!!From the Menu, go to "Leaderboards", then to "Time Trials", then scroll down to Silverstone and select start race. The only car that is used is the R2 class #009 Aston Martin DBR9!!
