Quite happy to play on existing server and help with cost but do not have time to manage server and as I said would only be worth doing if people played on it - I already play single player

done a bit of research and renting a server is cheaper then what i expected, so if the need is there then i don't mind shelling out the costs of a server, but like said before any donations would be gladly welcome

If i was to do set it up, i would be setting up a resonant Rise server on the ATlauncher

If anybody would be interested i can set up over the weekend if people let me know.

how similar is that to the yogscast mod pack, im only just getting my head around that one lol, i would be interested, i would donate some money when i can

From what i can tell almost the same, but i believe the resonant Rise mod pack will be getting more regular updates,

Will find out the exact difference.

Edit: A quick look on google suggests that the only real difference between the two is the hats, morph and furniture mods in the yogscast pack. Personally i have found it to be more stable in RR

Would any of the kind gentleman / women, happen to know a good guide for using Computercraft with bundled cables. I've been searching online and so far only managed to find bits and bobs from different sites. I'm basically wanting to create a timer program that will emit a redstone signal via different coloured cables at different intervals.

Also any guides on using turtles would be much appreciated, i had an attempt myself and have now lost the turtle (i forgot to give it a limit on how far to travel). I'm half expecting it to gain sentience and return for revenge.

I've got a decent understanding of the principles but its the actual command lines i was really needing. something like a list of viable commands for bundled cables and/or turtles too.

I'll probably give his videos another look through though once I finish work as he does sometimes give links to wiki's.

Fancied playing tonight as a change from WoT so have renewed server with the old world with all the work done on it. I've had to buy a new minecraft account which sucks but meh it's £18 and not the end of the world. Interestingly the server host has said the same thing has happened to his account, it just stopped working and doesn't recognise his login details and typically Mojang aren't replying to any tickets so he's in the same boat as me. I can't do anything on the server yet until he lists my new account on the OP and white-list files as I can't log in but as soon as that happens I'll add you (Terry & mate) to the white-list and anyone else wanting in (natty?).

I'd be a whole lot more enthusiastic about playing if 1.8 was out now but still churning out snapshots with no 1.8pre-release yet so it's still a way off.

After seeing this thread over the years I bought the game on my Iphone. Never got around to playing it so showed my gilrs (12 and 9) the game and they are fallen for it. they use it on my old Xbox but mainly on their Ipads.

But my eldest has a Laptop for school and would like this game on the PC

is the only place to buy this game via download from the website? or can I get hold of a Hard copy ?

Seems my kids are hooked on this game

OK back in business! New account sorted and server side sorted out too. Terry & MonkeySpeed should now be able to log in and boyd822 I saw you in server log trying to get in earlier so have added you as well.

I think we'll be getting 1.8 in a couple of weeks. They have stated that 14w34d is likely to be the last snapshot before a pre-release. Would upgrading the server to 14w34d be possible?

well thanks for the help. sorted it now. but seems it will not work on my 6yo gaming desktop. asks for me to update the graphics driver which I have done but still nothing.

It's in USD so fluctuates a bit. Think it's $20 so about £15ish. Host doesn't support the snapshots as too much hassle with crashes and whatnot. According the link in the post above 1.8 is out on 2 September so I expect there'll be some increased activity then. Will have to travel ~5000 blocks to get the new world gen so if you guys could stay within those boundaries for now it would be a good thing.

Mat I see you've been busy down in the valley - looks quite snazzy!

I've upped the server view distance from the default 10 to the max 15. If this causes anyone any issues let me know. I thought it was a problem with my PC at first when I couldn't see stuff across valleys..

Yeah a quick google for the problem and all is good now. Had my stupid head on after a 'lions led by donkeys day at work'
Looking to build a working lighthouse so will seek out some marble for the white and have a think about the red element.

Snow or white wool then. Snow has the smoother texture. There's no marble in vanilla MC, you're thinking of RedPower marble which was in Tekkit pack but RedPower mod has long since ended.
