Ive not been on in a long time - Moving house (and country) on friday...so fairly busy.
Once I get the home office sorted I might be back online in a month or so.

It got a bit boring with just me and Luke on so have not been on for a while
Been playing a couple of games I have locally
I have even ventured back into a bit of openTTD
Hoping that the new 1.9 update does not spoil the way you play minecraft as I have enough trouble controlling one hand let alone two smile

Happy to come and do some more on the server if people are going to be on as there's still a lot left to do

Hi All,

I don't play Minecraft myself but unsurprisingly my 6 year old boy has recently started getting into it in a big way. He loves to watch YouTube videos also and has started asking if I can download herobrine(????) maps for him to play on.

Firstly is this legal?

Secondly is there a safe place i.e virus free place I can get the maps?

Lastly, what's the simplest way I can do this? Onto a USB stick and then copy files to PS4?

Thanks guys, your help would be very much appreciated.

Jon

Not sure if its possiible to download maps & mods to the PS4 version of minecraft, or at least I've not managed to figure out how to do so. Its is however easier to do so on the PC version.

The problem I've now got with the PC version is trying to get an Xbox controller to work, haven't managed it so far. Although the new Minecraft 10 version (beta) does allow the controller to be used. Anyone know if I can use a controller on Minecraft 8?

Same thing here with my 8 year old. If he's not watching YouTube videos, he's playing it and wanting to make a YouTube video.
He's been asking about downloading maps and found this site - http://www.mcps4download.com/

But not had a chance to try it yet.

Thanks for the link, I assume you have to view that website on your PS4 browser and download straight to the PS4?

When clicking on the download link it opens up a website called adf.ly, with the PC I've successfully downloaded from that website before with other min craft content. Click on the download link, wait for the 5 second countdown timer in the top right of the screen to finish, then click on Skip Ad. When doing this on a PC the map is downloaded to the hard drive and then you insert the file into the minecraft game using Forge software (I can post more about this later).

However Ive never tried it on a PS4, so how does this work?

I've started playing again, single player until recently when I found a decent server. Mostly US/AUS but it's decent;
play.dawnhaven.net.

Vanilla with SlimeFun & mcMMO plugin amongst others and some nice donation perks/ranks.

Judging by the quality, the majority of the old PH server would be highly regarded here.

Full of silly little kids with far too many xXxXx's in their names.

I've been playing this for the past few months, but I've yet to dip my toes in the multiplayer stuff. Is it all PVP combat? Where's a good place to start?

wavey Well those few months went quick. Laptop is still packed away somewhere, online battle multiplayer sounds awesome though. It could sway me to unpack a few boxes!

We started on TheEmeraldIsle which is a well known UK server. Quite friendly, and in the PVP games you get a long grace period.

There's plenty of different types of games, it's not all 'Hunger Games' and there's non-combat

Hi. My 7 year old Daughter is just getting into this.

So far she's just running around taming horses and building stuff but guess she'll soon me looking for an objective.

What's the best things for her to be doing? SHould i get her onto a server to have a play around with other folks? I'm paranoid about online games and the like so needs to be safe.

It's on XBOX One, if that makes a difference.

I must admit to having watched some youtube videos and some of the creations are unreal.

Also, where's the PH cathedral? I can see me getting into this and my Daughter getting her own console.

How many years in the making and for that that? Forgive me while I try to regain control of my excitement. The game is done except for little 5 year old kids that like to build dirt houses. All the techie and older players gave up on it years ago.
