I got this game and managed to build my base on top of the largest cave complex I think that ever existed.

Its got to the point now I've had to build 6 skylights for it - 2 of which were because I had gotten completely lost and the other 4 to deal with hordes of creatures that seem to be at the bottom.

And I still have 3 or more areas I've yet to venture down... all of which means I've not bothered trying any of the farming etc!

I need a 3d map of where I am in my cave.. that would make like easier.

You need lava in your life hehe

All I do is attract the various monsters and let them burn. It took approx 30 bucket loads of lava to get the house as it is now, but I recommend it as it also kills those sodding cows thumbup

I have just watched Ep 10 Jake, where you flooded your house. I did that THREE times when I was bringing buckets of water in for my grow room! I wouldn't mind, but every time I did it, it washed all the torches off the walls in my mine/stairway thing. Twice I replaced em at the same height. You really would think I would learn faster than that!

As it happens I found a nice big seam of coal, so I started a new dig there anyway biggrin I did have a big pillar on the hill where my first place was, but I went so far it wasn't visible.

Doh.
And now I've stumbled into a big lair with lots of nasty things, died, and respawned by my original place. Balls biggrin

yeh seems to be an issue with the game that... you always spawn at your original spot...so that effectively limits you to exploring past a certain point. You should be able to build a spawn point. (assuming you cant already!)

Seems stupid to have such a massive 'world' to play in but always end up back at the same point when you (inevitably) die.

I believe this issue will be fixed soon (hopefully) by the creator. Until then, I'm staying at the Vandelay Volcano and digging in close proximity to it.

If the world's that big, it would be good if every player played in the same world leading to battles and turf wars when you 'discover' someone else. Or collaborative clanship. The potential is huge.

I still haven't bought it yet though. hehe

Hmmm, a PH clan who refuse to travel on foot (we'll use the coal powered mine carts as cars) to take over the world... Sounds like a plan! hehe

Just started this last night and loving it. Addicted already, died a few times but still getting used to it.

Can someone help me start out. The first 10 things to do after starting would be usefull.

Few Questions,

How do you turn Iron Ore into Iron? I found a pile of gold and red ore but cant mine it without an Iron pick.

Is their anyway to speed up night time?

Ive made myself a nice cave with torches, corridors, workbench and chest, with 3 entrances under a mountain.

Also, am i the first to build a tree house in a large tree. Steps leading up, door and Ive got a little room in the branches with a chest and workbench. And ive got the whole top of this huge tree levelled out with a sand wall around. Its nice to keep an eye on things at night and wait out till morning.

Make a furnace - Stone around the outside of a 9x9 crafting square. Put some Ore and some Coal/wood and then you shall have steel.

Ive watched so much of this on youtube I think im going to have to start a game.

Could you run a river underneath the greenhouse as a water supply for the crops?

I guess yes, would have to be built stategically because you can place blocks on water, so would have to make a tunnel. and the water has to be within 4 blocks of the crops.

Much easier to build a little moat around the inside of your greenhouse.

I've got a treehouse on my laptop game but rarely use it, it was more a novelty than anything hehe Should use wood though, for that authentic look (I used to just build with dirt but use nothing but wood, glass and heated rock now, OCD!)

As far as I'm aware there is no way of speeding up night time.

It's horrible when you can hear the zombies outside too! I still need to build a spawning shelter, just a basic well lit hut with a few weapons for when I fall into my own lava hehe
