Is that also available as a single player map? I've been looking for something like that as I'm bored of the normal single player at the moment.

Well Hard or completed would indicate a goal or mission etc. I only play the x-box version and nothing to complete.

He was referring to a downloadable Minecraft map called Vinyl Fantasy II. As you would expect, there is a plot and you are given challenges to complete (and survive). Just like you'd expect in a game.

It was a custom adventure map made by a guy called three_two. You have to find all 13 records and overcome difficult challenges to get them, typically loads of clusters of mob spawners, TNT traps, dispenser traps with damage potions in, lava, fire etc. You are provided with very little resources to begin with and have to fight the mobs like crazy to get to the treasure chests with food and loot in which you'll need to complete the challenges. Very good fun but can be EXTREMELY frustrating at the same time. I'm sure Mike will confirm my 120dB verbal raging and smashing my mouse repeatedly on the desk in 'Hello Great Architect of the Universe' after being destroyed by cave spiders for the 100th time. mad

That sounds really good, shame we can't get this yet on the 360 or probably ever. Doubt my little PC could run it.

ATJ,

Is your Minecraft server still up? (although I don't think anyone uses it these days?)

Don't tell me I need to get my 'awesome-to-the-max' home DSL server up again laugh

You know it's still up as you were logged in and playing the night before last. tongue out

People do still play, it's just that they all seem to be on at different times. There are also a lot of people who just log on for 1-2 mins without actually playing which is completely pointless so I think a white-list cull will be coming soon to sort out all the deadwood and free up spaces for new blood.

There was some planned outage yesterday, sorry about that.

I don't get why there being no-one else on at the time means that you can't allow yourself to play. It doesn't make any sense at all. Everyone builds their own stuff and works on their own anyway so what difference does it make? Even though I have tried to encourage people to talk to each other and work together on stuff, no-one takes any notice and just carries on working in silence on their own builds. Part of the fun of playing on a server is that you have an audience to showcase your completed builds to when you're done and also see other people's building styles which may give you fresh inspiration to build something yourself. You don't get any of that when you're playing single player mode.

No worries tongue out

Agree about being a better experience if we all don't just work individually. TBH I don't really have the time to build anything decent and do the mining required - I'd much rather see what others have done and give a helping hand if possible.

I've had a busy month so just getting back on occasionally. I've travelled far enough for emeralds now and found a couple of temples. Pursuing a new life in a distant location I died lost all my goodies, diamonds, emeralds and made the school boy error or destroying my bed. Now I'm back at the spawn with nothing, with only myself to blame.

If you know where you died, all your stuff will be still there as the chunks will have stayed unloaded since you started back at spawn.

That's the prOblem I can't quite follow my torch trail back there....I get close, but I ran out of torches. I'm going on another hunt soon, all my pieces should be in the middle of a village where a creeper destroyed me.

Remember you've only got 5 mins from when the chunks load which will start when you get to around 100 blocks from the area where you died.
