I did a quick search and couldn't find anything about it.

Has anyone had a go on the newly released PS Move yet? The starter pack is available for £39.99 which includes a controller and the USB camera. Games are available from £20+ but with a limited selection. Is it better than the Wii? I have heard it is much more reactive.

Everything I have read on this makes me think it is going to be brilliant, but I want to have a go before I go and fork out for it.

im quite looking forward to giving this a go.. although not sure it'll be that good for most games.. have seen some talk of CoD style games but having tried on on the Wii its not enjoyable.

talk about arm ache.
..id get it PS Move for some ten pin bowling/tennis etc games, like the wii but better graphics!.. would be great.
maybe even a chillout fishing style game for when im too baked to do much biggrin

looking forward to getting xbox kinect aswell when that comes out.

So I've heard. Theres a game called 'The Fight' which looks like it'll be brilliant.

The cost of the whole thing mounts up though. You have to buy the starter kit which includes the camera and one part of the control system, then a seperate control for the other hand (or use the bulky PS3 control pad) and then buy a game on top of that. If you are looking at buy 2 controllers for 2 player games you are looking at £130+ in total.

Don't make the mistake of comparing the wii with the move, the move is far more accurate. The Wii doesn't know where the controller is when it's stationary, the PS3 always knows where the controller is, what orientation it's at and what player's move it is!

sweet smile
have ordered it with sports champions game.
will see how i get on biggrin

> edit ... just watched this video.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/mpd/permalink/m2B32NAEJ...
in alot of the games to play people are using 2 motion controllers each.. so i'll need 4 of these censored to play gladiator duel, beach volleyball wink with the mrs.. confused

that sucks. ive bought the starter pack and navigation controller only, as i want to see if i like it before picking more controllers up (given the cost of them) so will test it single player, thats if i can play any of the games in single player without 2 motion controllers!!

I got mine this afternoon. I got the starter pack ( eye, one controller and a demo disc ). I've tried a few of the sports and shooting demos and the table tennis is top drawer.

I've had a look at what's available on the full game front and there is sod all at the moment.

I'm hoping with this new controller I'll finally use my PS3. I bought mine on the first day they were launched back in 2007 ( I went for the 60GB one, think end of 500 sheets ) and it's pretty much gathered dust since then; why ? Because how is anyone supposed to use that wkey controller ? ( I've always used a mouse and KB on my PC ). I did try and try but its just utter ste, so I only use my PS3 for playing DVDs, iPlayer, and PlayTV.

So now I'm finally hoping that I can actually use the thing to play some games on.

Does pointing it at the screen work as a cursor in the PS3 web browser, like a Wii?

Get rid of your ps3. The move is going to be a good companion but if you can't use the controller it's not worth you still having it. There are 24,000,000 PS3 owners out there and controller complaints don't normally feature highly so I would expect you to have to use the controller a lot on games. The move will mostly be used for conceptual control schemes.

I nearly did not long after I bought it, but the trouble was, after spending so much money on it I could not bring myself to sell it somehow. You are right about the normal controllers as well, it's not that there is anything wrong with them per se, it's just that after years of mouse and keyboard games on a PC I just seemed not to be able to get the hang of using it.

why not just buy an adapter or a fragstein http://www.renchi.com/renchi/PS3_Accessories_FRAGn...
then you can have the best of both worlds!

Thanks both.

I did buy a FragFX controller from the US as soon as they came out, but somehow it was not really up to the job I felt. They only good thing was that a sold it on ebay for quite a bit more than I paid for it.

I also bought UT3 because that does have proper mouse and KB control, but it's one of the worse games I've ever played, a 5 year old could have written a better game.

So, I do try, but nothing seems to work for me, but, as I say, I can't bring myself to sell it.

Picked up a move set today, starter pack and extra controller, navigation controller, charger and two games, sports champions and racket sports. Came to £190 almost.

Tried tiger woods on the demo and was empress, then the racket sports which was so awful I nearly took it all back! Utterly useless set of games. However the champions one is great fun, the gladiator battles especially had us leaping all over the place and the other games were good.

It is very accurate but not yet worth the price tbh

I got a starter pack and navigation controller, using many Game points to get about £28 off the price. I'll make my way through the demo disc first before buying any games (actually that's a lie, I bought Flight Control hehe ).

why? have you played with both systems and know the kinect to be better - even though its not out yet?

Its certainly the Move ive been most looking forward to.. given it can work with shooters etc
the kinect just looks like a controllerless wii (fit) basically (certainly from that video)..

Right, if you want to persevere, I would suggest a game like call of duty! Single player campaign will give you the two stick routine, set it to veteran and you'll not be able to afford to not look where you are going, getting shot every two seconds will act like negative reinforcement and you'll try harder!!

Driving games will improve your stick sensitivity while not needing the other buttons too much, maybe GT5P? It's not as polished as GT5 that's due out but it'll be pretty cheap!

I used to be a mouse and keyboard gamer, I actually stopped gaming for a couple of years before coming back with a PS1 and having to get used to the controller, I did it though and I'm sure you can too if you stick with it!
