This is a great choice for me, would probably leave the 'tard bit too, but can understand what you mean, who knows what WG consider offensive really. )haha.. like the above re clan details.

Just got my ace tanker in the Tiger, finally! I started a match on Ensk with another player with his mic on asking for other English speakers, asking for someone to defend his GwPanther, so I stuck myself in the heavily forested corner of the map. I ended up holding the flank, taking down 5 tanks letting the GwPanther do his thing, including taking on a long 88 Tiger who rushed up, ending in my turning side on to the Tiger to create a screen to hide the SPG behind. In the end I took 5 kills and damaged a few others. The enemy took the centre island, which made them sitting ducks for me and the SPG, and the tanks who pushed up my flank just ended up getting flattened.
I've been waiting for this one, and it's been pretty sweet.

Even with similar play styles, hang back, hide, shoot and scoot just don't seem to get the same results and the same ability to make a change in the result.
Part of this is my fault that the crew are not so highly trained. The other two are max camo all round, sixth sense and well on there way to the next skill. The cat doesn't have sixth sense and even camo isn't maxed out.
However part of the issue is the matchmaking. When you are up against some tier 8s and unable to penetrate it's pointless. Plus when trolled by the rng and you can't pen a tier 5 glass cannon even with gold rounds it gets stupid.
If it gets nerfed then will take the crew and move on to something else frankly as when your team folds you don't last long trying to shore up the gaps.
Can't get a win lately. School hols maybe.

It sounds like the Komarin map from your description. On the PC version they've removed a lot of the water and the forest has lost a lot of its trees. Tier 9 and 10 tanks don't see it now either.
I got my Ace Tanker in the tier 2 Soviet AT-1 TD the other day on Hilmmelsdorf with 5 kills too. I was trying to track down the last enemy vehicle (a scumbag), but despite me asking them not to, a couple of my so called team mates decided to cap instead of trying to find him. Most annoying to miss out on a potential Top Gun because of that. The AT-1 isn't the quickest and the arty decided to run off and hide.
Next game on Ensk and I didn't even get a shot off the team won so quickly. That was my x5 naturally as I was dead last in terms of XP. I decided to play another game and came first with a second Ace Tanker. Bloody typical.
Anyway I've sold it now and got the tier 3 TD instead.
Speed mostly. I'd describe the Jackson as like driving a Hellcat with a dead driver.
The Jackson has a band of 114mm frontal armour (more that the T29 American heavy tank a tier above), but that's just the lower glacis really. The upper glacis, which is what most people will be shooting at is sloped, but only 60 mm thick. You can bounce shots with it, but you can't rely on it to save you.
The turret armour on the Hellcat is actually better, but the upgraded turret on the Jackson has a lid on it that gives you much better protection from arty and HE shells. It's far less likely to be wrecked than the Hellcat.
The 90mm top gun is the same as the in-game Hellcat (In WW2 the Hellcat actually used a 76mm gun, as players of historical battles found out the hard way).
Also the top engine is a diesel, so you can't use high octane fuel to speed up the engine or the turret traverse as you can on the Hellcat.

Whoops, yes I did mean Komarin. The reason I typed Ensk as I was thinking about the Ensk map, as Ensk and Komarin were released together as a patch. Komarin is an uncommon to rare map, Ensk is super rare, the MM never brings it up. I wonder why that is, maybe they've had unbalanced results, or somewhere out there is a survey where players are voting and saying it sucks. I quite enjoy it, it's a fun map, shame I don't get to play it more.It sounds like the Komarin map from your description. It's interesting how they're rolling it out in stages for the Xbox. You'd think they'd pretty much port it over in one go.

Unfortunately, it was absolutely bloody terrible. Games were usually just one long camp fest because if you got spotted you'd be obliterated by all the TDs and arty safely hiding in the forests. They reworked it again for patch 9.1 a couple of months ago and made it tier 8 and below only. I've only played it a few times since, but it looks to be better now.
