Absolutly hating the tiger. what a pile of crap. OK I dont have the top turret or gun but it is just terrible.
Depends upon match making (you do need top gun though). Great for sniping and it's main strength is HP, accuracy & rof. You'll only monster games if top tier (and it's great fun when you dominate a game and bounce shots from everyone - must have been what a real Tiger was like during the war). If you are not top-tier, play as support and snipe.

Lower glacier is massive weak spot (lots of engine fires) so try and keep that hidden or at the very least, angled.

I love the Tiger, but it is terrible without the top gun and turret, really dire. Early on, I couldn't buy a win in that tank, not enough firepower to snipe, not enough armour to brawl.

Once you get the long 88, camo net, binocs and a rammer it can punish and dish out serious damage over big distances. If you're bit top tier, that 88 won't really cut it against tier 8 and up tanks unless you hit weakspots, which is little use when sniping at 500m. Instead, swap to HE rounds and try and damage modules, track and kill crews to assist your team.

The Tiger really does become a different tank with that top gun, once you realise you don't need to be the frontline in this tank. Even as top tier, its flat armour and big lower plate are easily penetrated by tier 6 guns. I wouldn't say its an expert tank, but its definitely not the easiest tank to earn XP and silver in, you'll need to angle, wiggle and sidescrape to make the most of its rather poor armour.

EDIT: Just to add, almost any tank in this game seems comically bad when you first unlock it. They're clearly designed to be played, almost without exception, with all the top modules (apart from occasionally people will forgo a top tier gun for a derp or something). As you've just come from a fully upgraded tank, gone up a tier and don't have all the top modules, the new tanks generally stink. The best example I've found is the VK36.01 - when it's fully upgraded it is a beast, when you first unlock it, it has a piss poor gun and is so slow it struggles to climb even small inclines, and the flat armour is very hard to angle mid-fight at the traverse is so appallingly slow. Likewise, the long 88 is a great gun on the Tiger, but on the Tiger II it's almost comically bad as it struggles to penetrate a lot of tier 8s unless you can get a shot on a weakspot.

My E25 lovvvvves facing off against Tigers. Just the right height to munch on that lower glaces.

Im currently trying to move up the Brit Med and Heavy lines, T8 + 6 respectively

I had some cracking games in the T6 churchill last night, the armour is brilliant, does it carry with the black price?

Just played a game where a Type 58 bounced 3 shots from point blank range from my 90mm Hellcat.......what a joke.

I've not played the Churchill or Black Prince, but I do know that when I saw a Churchill in my VK36.01, it was an easy target - easy to penentrate, and not able to easily return meaningful fire. The Black Prince on the other hand is a big step up, when I fight those in my Tiger I keep my distance, they are tough and can dish out the damage. However, over long ranges they are still an enormous target from the side, but they seem to have the hitpoint pool to cope.

The Black Prince is more of the same really. It moves like a slug and has a reasonably fast firing, low alpha damage gun. Like all such tanks, people just load the skill rounds and it's game over.

Against the same tier it's pretty good. Anyone stupid enough to try and brawl with a Tiger 1 deserves to die anyway.

In the little Chinese T-34-1 medium I used to dash tight along side Black Princes and hit them over and over until I'd got them. There was nothing they could do.

Black Prince is a Tier VII on the Xbox currently, so it's stats may be buffed over the PC version.

It's tier 7 on the PC too.

I've just finished grinding it (thank god) as it's so boring to play.

Hmm, the Tiger doesn't seem like much of a brawler to me - the armour, accuracy and DPM of the BP makes it a tough fight in a brawl imo, even trying to angle the Tiger the BP still seems to find a flat spot to penetrate every time! At a distance the Tiger wins most times, in my experience.

Brawling in the Tiger for me always seems to go with a tracking, an engine fire or a hit to the ammo rack that makes the reload speed go to about 14 seconds, so I try to avoid confrontations.

The thing I dislike the most about the BP is that it's just so boring to look at.

The Tiger is terrible close up. It needs to be played like a TD and be hitting stuff at range. I used binoculars and optics on mine. I also had an automatic fire extinguisher on it, which reduces the chance of a fire in the first place.

Not sure u see the point of a heavy that can't mix it up a bit. May as well take a td instead leaving the heavy spot for a brawler.

As for sniping the top gun is no more accurate than the one I have and despite the stats the rng is murdering me.

Last night 2 out of 3 shots sailed over a tank despite it nearly filling the recticle. This seems typical, and with this gun most hits don't pen. The mm us not kind either.

I've found few tanks suddenly 'work'when fully equipped if they don't before.. Matilda was one though I did a lot of learning with her...

I'll persevere for a while but won't use it much.

The hellcat is OK now with the big gun, have to say though much prefer the wolverine!

Top gun in the Tiger is a big improvement over the pop guns it gets before that. The 75mm lacks pen and alpha, the 105mm derp lacks accuracy and forces you to get in close where the Tiger doesn't really work. The long 88 has slightly worse ROF and aim time, but better accuracy, better alpha and a big jump in pen. It also needs the top turret to mount, which I think has better armour, and adds more hitpoints to your pool. With regard to taking a TD, you could, but the Tiger is better at engaging lower tier targets up close - you can lead and carry in a Tiger, where fast, lower tier tanks can out-manoeuvre a TD.

I had a bit of a mare last night, winning 1 of 6 games.

But the one i won i was in my T95 (in a mostly T8 game) and we were attaching on the map with the town in the East side of the map.

I do some sniping, we are doing ok but theres about 4 T8's all camping on our spawn. So i think feck it, i dash *cough* into the town were the T95 can get surrounded quite easily but i was impatient. I had 4 tanks shooting me at a 180 deg. circle to the front and i was taken to 4hp, then proceeded to bounce what felt like 10-15 shots smile I bet there was some cursing from the other team!

Eventually my team decided to leave the spawn point to support me, i blow up they cleaned up and we won!

I cant stand people who don't like getting damage :/ use that fecking HP you nonce's!

Shooting the 8,8cm.

Top tank, 17 hits, 6 pen for total of 1345. Hopefully can get the turret and top gun soon , can free xp it but I dont want to waste more on this like after having to suffer the dw2 etc. Frankly I was expecting better after all that ste.

Yeah, the short 88 isn't so hot. Wait until you go up to the Tiger II - the long 88 is a great gun on the Tiger, but on the Tiger II it's absolutely hopeless, just not enough pen or alpha to be even mildly competitive. I'm slowly grinding towards a proper gun for it, but it's hard work, as I'm stuck pretty much hiding, trying to take opportunistic shots and hoping that I can at least be a use by tracking and damaging modules with HE. A common theme in this game seems to be learning the tanks, and getting the right equipment. Without knowing how to play a tank, and having the right setup for it, they're rarely competitive.

EDIT: Bosh, just killed a Tortoise, long 88 shell to the cupola, detrack then flanked round a building and shot him up the arse. Of course, someone else wiped most of his health off, but I made the decisive move to take him out of the game.

Hi folks. Could someone hook me up with an invite please? Don't think i'll be on until much later tonight though. I'm *thinking* about popping in to PC World after work today to get me a headset. Scary prospect for me, as I've never used one, even though I've been playing online games since 1999.

EDIT - ingame name is Faneo.
