Some interesting games, managed to kill 6 in the loltraktor and damage another 4 and still lose.....
yes A couple of times recently I've been in my BT-2, against tier 2-3 tanks, got seven kills and lost. Happily my kill-death ratio in it is about 2.4 and rising, as that's only 160 games or so and I'm still learning in it. That's a never-sell tank for me as I can always make my own luck - it never gets put higher than fighting tier 3s, and even with a terrible team I can always go and do some serious damage.

Recently purchased the SU-85 and, while I only have the second gun and clearly need ZiS-6S to make it shine, I'm not getting on with it. Anyone else care to share their thoughts on it?

Had a couple of great games over the weekend, when you get on a good random battle team it really makes a difference.

I also had a laugh in the troll gun armed KV-2 taking out 5 enemy tanks, including an M6 on 48% (I’d already shot it once) that fired and missed, but then just sat there and waited for the troll gun to lay and BOOOOM one dead M6 (frontally) I love this tank in urban environments it’s just hilarious. It’s great for one shotting tier 5 tanks (and some tier 6 TD’s etc.) that you can sneak up on/ambush.

Only 25k XP away from the E-75 now, is it a worthwhile upgrade to the Tiger II?

Though my next stop will be swapping the KV-1 for the KV-1S (have the XP I am just saving credits (in the midst of buying upgrades for the higher tier stuff)).

The T-1 heavy is a keeper it is a lot of fun when you have a 100% crew and learn to play to its strengths.

Current tanks:
• Tiger II
• AMX 13 75
• Pershing
• T-1 Heavy (elite)
• T49 TD (elite)
• M12 Arty
• Tetrarch (premium) just a laugh in low tier matches
• KV-1 (elite)
• KV-2

Isn't this the truth! a good team can be the difference between a good game and a bad game.

this weekends highlights included a massive t10 and t9 game (ie everyone was a T10 or T9 tank), and i ended up holding the left flank in an E-50. OUr arty were fantastic though- between us we took out 8 tanks- i tracked everyone one, and they dropped all the HP down to 10% where i could one shot them. The rest of the team got owned smile but we still won biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Current line up (mostly meds for some reason)

T-44 Elite Had a T54, but went back- (T54 just isn't good enough for a T9 anymore - nerfed too many times) Love my T44 and finally working out how to take out T-59s regularly
E-50- Elite- realy interesting tank- half way between a batchat and an e75- played well its fearsome, but get it wrong and you die quite quickly.
Slowe- We all know what this is for biggrin
Hummel - Elite- had a GWpanther, but find the hummel a better earner of XP.
T25 AT- Elite- trying to work out whether to buy the T28 or not? Currently have a 59% win ratio with this!
VK3601H- Elite - a really good tank- must be one of the best level 5/6s.
AMX12t- really need to get to the 13 75

have a fair bit of XP built up (both free and Xp that could be paid for)- should i use to upgrade the E-50 when the higher tier meds come out, or go down the british line when that arrives?

I got one last weekend when they were half price and after the SU85B I was expecting a bit more somehow . I've only played 10 games so far, so too early to judge but I've been finding it a bit 'meh' . I must admit to spending a bit of free exp to get the Zis on it as 14k experience was looking a bit of a grind . The ZiS is much better and with a 100% crew , mines at 77% I can see it starting to shine .

I think , for me at least , the 'meh' comes from the difference between the Russian and German TD's . The Stugs top gun has an accuracy of .33 and a damage of 135 .... the SU85 .42 and 167 . I've sort of got used to hitting stuff with a TD even if it bounces or is no damage . With the SU85 you seem to get a bit more all or nothing , either the hp of the tank you are shooting at is halved or you miss .

I've got mine equipped with camo , binocs and a rammer , I think I'll swap the binocs for a gun laying drive as when they are working the chances of hitting anything seems slim .

All that said I've got a feeling that this is one of those tanks that a 100% on the crew makes all the difference.

Had an amusing encounter battle last night on El Halluf, in the Hummel.

Stating on the NE, it eventually came down to me and a T25, vs an SU-26, T25, S40 and a 3601.

I'd hit the T25, which was capping, once already but he was un-spotted by the time I'd reloaded, so I was debating whether or not to risk a random shell into the area sheltered by rocks, when the 3601 also came in to help him cap, spotted by our T25.

So I one shot him. As you would.

The S40 pipes up about 15 seconds later with "wrong one".

So I take the chance and fire the next one into the area where the T25 should be, and finish him off - "Challenge accepted".

Crickets from the S40 smile

Got the S40 a minute or so later, but we couldn't find the Su-26 in time, so it was a draw. Highly amusing, though.

Do you have to pay to get gold or is it possible to gain it in other ways? I've had to sell a couple of the tier 1 tanks to free up some space for my tier 2 stuff.

Two ways to get gold; pay for it, or join a clan that owns lots of territories, as they will earn gold from those territories and usually distribute it amongst their members.

Only problem with the second scenario is that to join a clan that already owns lots of territories, you usually have to be a bloody good player with a few tier 10 tanks in your garage.

Figured that was the case. I've bought 1500 gold just to get some extra garage slots for now.

I think I've got a lot to learn yet. I can usually do ok in the tier 1 tanks but I've bought a couple of tier 2 (T26 and a BT2) and I'm getting my arse kicked in both of them biggrin

Quite often the way. It's logical that just as you have enough xp/credits to progress to the next tier, the tank you are currently playing has been upgraded and can do well in the battles it gets placed in. Conversely the new tank is bog standard, often with a gun similar to the tank you are progressing from, but you now find yourself up against deadlier enemies due to going up a tier. Unfortunately this is a common scenario as you move up to each new tier; the new tank feels like crap until you can get a few upgrades on it.

Presumably crew training makes a difference too? My T26 is almost fully upgraded but the crew are still at just a bit over 50%, I've set my tier 1's to pump all xp in to crew training.

Yeah, you certainly notice the difference with a decent crew in there, especially at the lower tiers where most people are running round with a 50% crew!

There is a lot to be said for hanging around the lower tiers. I have gone back and it has really improved my game. Getting hit normally means death so you play to avoid reckless acts and the crew being decent helps. I play my higher tiers in a similar way and have a much better game now. Have to try Nd avoid basic tanks from now on too using free xP where I can.

I have notice the tech tree will change so gaining some xp on the Marder and Vk3002db so I am ready for the next patch, even if it is a few months.

Damn these multi tier games my tier 2 tank destroyer's got the second biggest gun I can mount on it, and I just managed 2 hits at fairly short range on a T28 (tier 4?) and didn't even scratch him! biggrin

Get used to it - I've bounced off tanks with 13 armour when I've had 180+ penetration! Try not to get into straight shooting matches with tanks bigger than you though, even if you manage to kill him you won't have many hit points left, especially with the T-28 which can have a tier 6 gun!

I know what you mean about accuracy with TDs, Bugeye - I'm getting along with the JagdPanzer's guns quite well, but would be frustrated to be missing. However, having 167mm penetration with a great big 300-damage shell is not to be underestimated, especially at tier 5, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy it with that gun!

Half price barracks slots and credit consumables this weekend, by the way - I love using these to buy a shedload of repair kits and first-aid packs because then I essentially don't pay for using them in battle later smile

Shame they're not discounting garage slots too though. I think I may have to get some more barrack space and sell some tanks. I got my first tier 3 last night but I'm still having the most fun (and success) in my tier 1's

Do you all tend to have separate crews for each tank or retrain a small number of crews on multiple tanks to make use of bonuses?

I have seperate crews for all my tanks but I will move a good crew up through its tech tree. My IS7 crew for example have driven many different heavies and are nearly finished their 3rd skill now. If I rebuy or keep lower tier tanks they have to start again but I normally 100% all my crews.

MY T95 crew are on their 5th skill. Thinking of moving them to the T100E5 or M103 as I don't play the T95 much anymore.

I've had a few good games with the SU-85 . Best one yet was on Erlinburg took out a JagdPanzer in two shots, the first through the side as he came around a corner took him down to 44% , chased him through the wooden buildings near the cap in a very un TD manner until I managed to get a second shot on him. Also got half a KV1 at very long range and a VK3601 up close , on the VK I pretty sure the shot went through the mantle. On another game one hit on a PZ IV knocked him down to 4% so the I'd say the Zis works well. Still not really clicking with it though .... I think a bit of platooning with the clan TD specialist might be in order smile

Half price on repair kits etc ... damn I'm down to 1 million credits after buying the KV4 .... have to get the Lowe out and grid some cash biggrin
