Hi chaps,

How does the whole moving crew between tanks thing work?

i.e. if I move my T29 crew onto my newly acquired T32 without retraining them, how much will they suffer?

Cheers.
A lot, they will function at 75% of their real skill level and will gain experience a lot more slowly. If you retrain them for free, then they go to 80% of their T29 skill level, if you do it for £20k per man it goes to 90% of the previous skill level, if you do it for 300 gold each then they don't drop at all. Any perks or skills they have are unaffected, it only drops the main training level.

I always do it to 90% - not worth spending a lot of gold on IMO, but definitely worth £100k a tank to make sure they don't drop too much!

They don't usually release patch dates, just keep your eye on the news for the end of all the supertests and any server downtime - that'll usually be it!

In other news, I am now a member of DUDS, thank you very much to bugeye biggrin

Glad to have you aboard McSam party

I played the VK3002DB a bit more this weekend ... It's the most schizophrenic tank I've played . If you come top of the matchmaker, especially platooned with another DB, it's devastating. I started to view anything less than 7 or 8 kills between us as a bit of a fail. The balance of speed, armor and a decent gun means you can almost pick a flank and steamroller it.

Flip side ... bottom of the mm and you're up against tier 9 & 10 tanks with your tier 6 gun, get used to the phrase "that one bounced". It seems a better approach for these games is to go for the passive scout, distracting and irritating the enemy.... still fun just very different and not something I've quite got the hang of yet.

I also realized how desperately the KV-4 needs the top gun, going to be a long grind. I've switched of crew training on the Lowe to make more free exp to speed things up 101,300 exp is a long way to go banghead

Best game of the weekend and it was a loss rolleyes

Think I need to get myself a credit earner to sit alongside my Type 59.

So...

Lowe or KV-5?

Or does anyone know what level the Matilda Black Prince will be?

Tier 5 I think from the garage pictures in this link

If you want the KV-5 get it quick as it will be removed in 7.5 . I think I'd rate the T34 over the KV-5 from playing against them .

The type 59 is probably my best money making premium anyway. I have a T34 and had a Lowe but the Type is more fun to play and makes "me" way more credits. I wouldn't bother spending money on another premium personally.

Think the usual way is 1st public test, wait 2 weeks, 2nd public test, wait 2 weeks, release. 2nd public test started on the 18th so my guess would be middle on August.

Now, where are you getting that efficiency-per-battle information from? wink

Re. KV-5 vs T34, the KV-5 is only a problem to dispatch if you're carrying less than a tier 7 gun. The T34 is a considerably better tank, but it also has matchmaking two tiers higher.

For reference, the KV-5 goes into battle tiers 9 and 10, the Löwe 9-11, and the T34 9-12.

How much XP is used for training when you've got accelerated training on? I just started a mission with all the crew of my TD at 68% and accelerated training turned on, scored 500XP, and they're all still at 68%

All of it, which usually means their rate of training is doubled. If you right-click on the crew member and open their details it'll tell you how much XP they need to the next level, but bear in mind that accelerated training gives all the XP to the lowest-trained crew member.

I think the accelerated crew training only gives an extra 5% xp gain on your weakest crew member.

Ah, I just read it again in the Wiki and from what I can see it means that your weakest crew member earns double, and the others earn at the usual rate. I'll check, but if so, it's only moderately useful.

ETA - Just tested it with my PzIV and that's correct. With accelerated turned on, all crew earn at the usual rate, except for the least skilled crew member who earns double. You still get your 5% free XP.

I think you've joined at a good time too, now that we are trying to get our act together with the company battles and clan wars.

The efficiency thing is from the 'battlelog' part of the vbaddict stats tracker - link

I more interested in it for the amount of damage done that it shows.... trying to find out if what I think is a good game actually is a good game.

I'm working down the German tech tree and I've got as far as the PzIII/IV and now the xp needed to progress is getting a bit tougher. I'm considering three options:

E50
E75 -> E100
or go back and work towards the Maus.

I don't mind heavy tanks, I also don't mind mediums. Are there any howlers in there, anything to avoid? Is there a best way to proceed?

Tiger 2 is far better than the Tiger and somehow I got 'Ace Tanker' in mine today. I preferred the Tiger P to the Tiger and am going the Maus route myself (as well as the E100).

Don't think the E-100 is much cop from what I have read. I have an E-75 but really have no interest in going for the E-100....I am not a fan of slow tanks!

It's getting 1000BHP on top in the next patch i think...

Ok, a complete U-Turn on the T44, i love it, playing with it now like a big cat, seperating a heavy from a group and running rings round him, tracking him so that the big boys can finish them off (Only works when you are playing with non-retards). It still does nothing really well, but most things ok.

Looks like my original plan of sitting in an elite vehicle to train my crew up before transferring them to the next level may be a waste of time then and I'm better off just going straight to the next tier. Wonder if I've got enough cash for a tier 4 TD?

Hmmm I'm nearly at the end of my long T-43 slog which I've found less fun than the T34 and T34-85s I had on the way. Hoping it'll be worth the 3mil to purchase the 44!

Getting closer to the E-75 now smile nearly 2 mil credits in the bank, with the tank being worth around 1.2 mil after the transferrable parts and mods are taken off (rammer, spall liner, repair kit).

Though my banked amx12t will net me its original buy price when they get up tiered as will the sale of the new french Tier 5. So in a couple of weeks I will have the E-75... I hope it is a good vehicle (from its specs it looks like an up armoured Tiger II).

Using Free Xp and thankfully stuff already transferring accross from the Tiger II I only need to train the XP for the top gun, and the top engine before the long grind to the E-100, that said it is 50k XP for the engine (another 280hp) and 68k XP for the gun! so it won't be that quick.

Had a great match in the Pershing last night, on the airfield map, out team won 15:0 couple of us were down to less than half hp left but still, I did accidentally damage a Lorrane 40T that I shot by accident as he moved infront of me when I fired - oops.
