Ok so not WoT but I figured a few of you might be interested in this that I saw yesterday. A German Leopard 1 (1965) that's been sectioned.

I'm amazed at how thin the front armor is, although it's one hell of a slope, and how cramped it is inside. Designed by Porsche to a spec that called for mobility first, then firepower, then armor. 65kph with a 105mm gun.

Didn't see a T-34-85 which is a shame as I'm starting to love it in Wot. Didn't have time to look in the fun room, just a wander around the tanks and artillery.

That is a lot of guns.

And this is a lot of utter fkwits, especially as my KV-3 is brand new, un-upgraded and pretty st.

Yes supposedly. Plus a couple of other things:

http://worldoftanks.com/en/content/docs/release_no...

But you all might want to check that it doesn't also reset your premium ammo costs from silver to gold & end up costing you real money.

Just had a game on Mines in my JagdPanther, just a few more to go before I can afford to buy the JPantherII, which I've had researched for a while, but not enough silver to buy yet. And just as I'm about to upgrade, I've played a blinder in my Jpanther, killing 7 tanks, scoring a Top Gun and a Devastator medal. In total I dished out 3591 damage - not shabby at all when the alpha for this 105 gun is about 250 a shot.

More things that annoy me in WOT.

Losing matches because gutless team mates won't press the action, cowering like scared children rather than take part in a fight when the match could go either way. It's still gutless and cowardly when the match is clearly lost, or at least looking highly unlikely to be won, and they start sloping off to the edges of the mpa to hide rather than fight to the last. Either they've been playing such a cowardly game that their tank being destroyed will lose them silver (because they won't have been engaging in combat to earn any silver to start with) or because they want to protect their precious stats.

I also really hate it when medium tanks hog the good sniping spots, leaving the TDs to find sub-optimal sniping positions. Then the mediums don't move up, so the enemies don't get spotted and the TDs don't have anything to shoot at. It's not bloody rocket science, and you'd think at tier 7+, you've had to invest some hours in the game to get there, so you understand how the game works. TDs have the best guns, but bugger all armour and are mostly hull-locked, so aren't really capable of leading an attack. Mediums are mobile and versatile, but their guns are comparatively weedy, so they'll never have big scoring games by hiding in a bush on the edge of the map. Know your tank!

I had a game the other day where one of our heavies shot a T-50 on the same team after repeatedly asking him to move up and scout rather than hiding at the back biggrin

This!

I gave up last night after 3 games only where we had been steamrollered and completely mullered in each one.

The final straw resulting in a rage quit was on El Halluf where all our heavies cowered near the spawn leaving me in a tissue paper armour TD and two mediums to try and protect the northern route from a platoon of KV-1S with the stupid guns. It didn't end well.

I sometimes wonder what some players use to keep their ears apart. Couple of days ago day on Ensk, in the tiny M8A1 I was the bang bottom tank on both sides. On that map and in a battle which was largely a brawling battle an M8A1 shouldn't end up top tank for damage and XP on both sides. Suppose it's results like that which make up for all the days where you just want to drive off a cliff

Upgrading to the JpantherII has reminded me how st tanks are in their stock form. With my 105mm Jpanther, I was regularly MVP or at least top 3 in most matches (except when I was lumped in with tier IX tanks, which I was powerless against), scoring multiple kills, damaging plenty of enemies and scoring capture points etc. Now, in my JPantherII in stock form, I'm struggling to get out of the bottom quarter of the board. Now my main targets are VIIIs, IX and Xs, the 105 just can't compete with their armour. Couple that with the fact the JPII is so damn big it's hard to stay hidden in it, especially as my crew could not be fully retrained due to me having no gold, so I've not got their camouflage bonus, and I don't have enough silver for a camo net yet. Bugger.

Still, I know this is only temporary, but the stock grind is soooooo fking slow. A good match nets me 10,000 silver, an ok one only drags in 3-4000. The game does seem balanced so that the closer you get to the top, the more you need to have a premium account to make silver-earning headway. The ammo and repair costs for higher tiered tanks can cost you money, rather than earn it, which seems nigh impossible with the lower tier tanks unless you're having strings of great matches. I'm not amazing, but I'd say I'm a decent player, and I've only made 69,000 in 10 matches. In my Universal Carrier PDII TD, I would have easily made 100,000 or more.

Don't worry, the JP2 is a great TD once you get that top gun on it.

Yep, I've had some of my best game in the JP2, good powerful T10 gun and nice and mobile considering it's size! Once you get up to T8 they do start to become much more expensive to run.

If you think the grind up the JP2 tree is bad just wait until you get to the ISU-152...

If you complete a mission that gives you 3 days premium does it start straight away or do you chose when to use it?

They are usually straight away, if you already have premium time in the game it is tagged onto it.
