It's amazing how someone who can apparently be so experienced at WoT; he had 10k games with an efficiency of 1100 or so according XVM, but still not know what certain tanks are for.
To be fair, he may have had a run of bad luck/matches and you just got in the way of him ranting away and been the unfortunate target - I may have been guilty of this in the past...

We are all human, it's just some are more noobish than others wink .

It seems a lot easier for people, regardless of how many games and their XVM stats, to blame others than accept that they didn't do so well themselves. I just tend to ignore it, WOT is good for helping to grow a thick skin smile

Plus as sleepezy says he was probably on tilt after having a run of bad results. If he wasn't hull down then he wasn't doing it right, and not fair to blame others.

He could have been suffering under the influence of the Dunning Kruger Effect. Mind you after my own 36% win rate performance yesterday, I was probably suffering from the same effect irked

Lol yes, I think that gets us all now and again. But at least being aware of it is a start smile, those that truly suffer with it won't even acknowledge it.

Before my layoff my TD's were my highest win rate, since coming back to the game though I've been having an absolute disaster with them, and now have a win rate of 42% after 33 battles in the SU-100.

What gun are you using on your SU100? Is it the 122 by any chance? I switched to the 100mm and my overall performance in that tank has risen dramically.

The 100mm fires almost twice as fast as the 122mm with similar penetration. Ok you lose that brutal alpha damage on the 122 but the morerapid firing 100mm gun has allowed me to carry games that would have been lost if I had been using the slower firing 122. 250 average damage is still pretty good on a tier 6 tank.

Exploit your very good camo rating and pour that dpm into your enemies and feast on their tears.smash

Not sure, definitely not the top gun yet though, I'll have a look. I seem to remember it's very accurate with a reasonable RoF, I think part of my problem is not having figured out good sniping positions on a lot of the maps.

Some maps simply aren't suited to sniping. By that I mean, a lot of it is chance as to whether the enemy attack in your direction. Some maps obviously have certain pinch-points and routes which guarantee action.

Sometimes you simply have to play as a medium and support the heavies from a distance, even if it means losing your camo advantage.

Btw something that I hadn't really picked up before but seems to be rather a few utter racist bar stewards on the game recently.

One poor Turkish bloke got a stream of invective that raised my eyebrows.
Seen the odd bit of anti Polish stuff but nothing like recently.

This is pretty much the only thing that has me reaching for the report button and as far as I'm aware Wargamming treat this as enemy number one, they've done really well to keep the 1930's and 40's political scene away from the game.

Did Komarin get taken out in 9.0? Haven't played it in ages (thank god).

Wishful thinking. I have been plagued by this broken map over the past few days in particular.

Komarin would be fine if it could be restricted to 7v7 battles, it's too small & has too many camping spots to work effectively in 15v15.

I usually now just encourage people to try take the island early on, do or die, because it's about the only thing you can do to force the pace. At least you end up with a half decent game, or very short one, that way.

Bought a KV-2 last night, just to see. First couple of games were vey meh & couldnt quite see what the fuss was about (inaccurate, slow, low damage rolls), but then got in a battle on Ruinberg where the derp gun was in it's element & it was hilarious. 5 shots, 5 kills, 3 of them were on full HP when I hit them - a tier 6 japanese medium (Chi-to?) which seemed to have around 800HP, and 2 tier 5 T34's. It makes the KV-1S look positively under gunned. The Japanese tank, in particular, must have had a real WTF moment when I poked round the corner and he instantly went boom. Think I'm really going to enjoy this one as a stress reliever, as well as using it to train up a crew for the 2nd line of Soviet heavies.

The KV-2 (aka the Troll tank) is a right blast (no pun intended). 3 man platoons as top tier tanks on a map like Ruinberg or Himmelsdorf are a bloody riot, even as bottom tier tanks I have seen tier 8 heavies back off and run away as we come barrelling through hehe

Though we did once get accused of cheating by somebody because we worked together (yes figure that one out).

I think they have nerfed it slightly over the last few patches sadly as one shot kills haven't been as regular as they did. When they do happen I always try and type BOOOOM in the general map chat window - its lovely to bathe in nerd rage & tears hehe

T25/2's with open turrets respond very well to the KV-2.

Last time I saw someone in a KV-2 do that, I was sitting patiently waiting for the reticle to settle, in the SU-8.

So, about 5 seconds after his 'BOOOM', I was able to go 'BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM'.

It amused me, probably more than it amused him.

I'm getting the hang of troll gunning in the Cruiser II, I love being able to lob a shot over a crest at people who are waiting for you to pop your turret over the top. does the KV-2 have a slow/high enough arc to do that as well? got it researched but not enough cash at the moment.

Semi-indirect fire, as I like to call it smile

I don't recall the 152 as having a flight time anything like as long or as pronounced an arc; I remember being shocked at the flight time in the CII the first time I fired it.

Happened more than once by various types of arty, though normally whilst I am wating for the gun to boresight.

Its why KV-2 drivers should take inspiration from the trolls in fairytales, and hide under bridges (or more often in WoT behind buildings, big rocks etc). That way the big guns are less likley to troll the troll hehe
