I am fed up with constantly being placed in games where the highest tiered tanks are two tiers above mine. I pick a t5 tank and get placed in a t7 game, so I pick a t7 and end up in a t9 game. That's one of the reasons why I don't play this game anywhere near as much as I used to. I play the game to shoot and destroy stuff, not to constantly hear "That one bounced" or "We didn't even scratch him."

Yes, that is my biggest annoyance. It seems to happen that you end up being the bottom of the pile a lot more often than you end up being the top. I could take being bottom tier in the match, as long as it was equal to the amount of time I spent being top tier. I'm using a VIII now, and my main opposition in IXs and Xs, when I was in a VII it was VIIIs and IXs and the occasional X.

49.5 or thereabouts, bear in mind the draws as well as the losses.

I've played 11k games and only got 1 Tier 9 no Tier 10's, played every single non premium tanks below Tier 7 and working on the 7's biggrin
19k games, with 1 T10, that I've never played. I could buy another,(T92), but as it's already elited with out playing, I won't.

I've elited all but 4 T6's, which are all fully equipped, elited 20 of 35 T7's....only about a quarter of the T8's, though.

As above, I've a lot of 'extra' games at T6 and T7 (and now T3!), if I'd just been grinding, I'd have completed a couple of nations trees by now.

I went through a long patch last night of being a T6 tank in T6 games. Sweet. Except it was arty, and I was on the worst team ever, time after fking time; I''d look up after firing my first shot and find half the team dead for no loss, already.

But the whole bottom tier tank thing was why I switched to TD lines for a lot of games; you might be bottom tank then, but at the very least, you've got a mid tier gun to do damage with.

jimmyjimjim (and anyone else who is enjoying my Cruiser II recommendation), what is your equipment and skills setup?

I've just completed 100% on second skills so:-

Commander: BIA, Sixth Sense, starting camo
Gunner: BIA, Designated target, snap shot
Driver: BIA, Camo, smooth ride
Radio Op: BIA, Situational Awareness, Camo
Loader: BIA, Camo, repairs

Paint job, Vents, gun laying drive and coated optics.

My logic being, maximise view range, extra time to aim before targets disappear, reduce my own visibility and have some chance of making a shot count when caught in a clutch situation. I'll probably drop camo on gunner when I can take Deadeye perk.

It's the last equipment that I'm torn with, coated for all situations, or binocs for sniping stationary.

My Cruiser II crew are only about 95% trained, but have already had 3 Top Guns and Ace Tanker in just 50 games.

I think I've got vents, binocs and camo net. Oh and camo paint too.

Nothing that interesting.

100% crew with 100% repairs, and ~88% on the tertiary skills - sixth sense, deadeye, controlled impact, camo, situational awareness.

They were my Centurion I crew IIRC.

I've only put the gun laying drive on at the moment. I was thinking about camo net, and I'd have added a rammer if I could, but it's not allowed. So probably vents and optics or binos, not sure.

It's mt fun tank at the moment, so I tend not to worry about kit too much.

On XVM stats (although I don't know how reliable these are) I have a 54% win rate even though I seem to have lost loads recently hehe). In the vast majority of games (like 90%) I have the highest W/R. There are rarely more than 3 players on either team who have greater than 50% and many, many games, everyone else has less than 50% W/R.

Now I don't consider myself a particularly good player - I certainly make many mistakes that I realise as soon as I do them and yet, the vast majority of people must be pretty rubbish, if the stats are anything to go by!

I suspect also, by looking at a lot of players histories, especially total games played v Tiers of tanks etc, that a lot of people are just grinding up to high tier tanks ASAP and therefore have neither the experience of playing many different tanks (to learn their strengths & weaknesses) but more importantly, don't have skilled crews.

I stopped at T5/6 and spent a long time just training all my crews. I reckon I could have a large fleet of T9/10s if I just upgraded as soon as I had the XP.

I reckon this makes a massive difference in games at higher tiers (skilled crews that is).
I am grinding a few tanks right now which are pretty much standard and I will be going quickly to the next tier. I do agree that to play properly you need to experience the tank, after 22k battles though I think if you can play the type and know where you should be and the map then with gold you can be quite effective.

Played four tier ten games and was on the winning side for all with my IS4 top tank for its game. I find tier tens quite unforgiving but am starting to enjoy them.

Does anyone play the top English med or heavy tier ten and are they any good? Heavy looks poor but have seen it used effectively and medium looks to be a improvement over the tier 9.

I just joined _DR_ again after literally bumping into SuperDaz the other night. He died and wasn't happy biggrin. I haven't really played the game in ages but I have had some good platoons with Daz, Gitty, Grif and llamafarmer the last few nights. No clan wWars just playing platoons. On one match We even snatched a victory from what looked like an almost certain defeat, it was one of the most fun games I have played in a long time.

The TS is ts.mandor.se with no password, pop in and say hi if you are on.

I've only rarely been playing for ages now. One thing that is obvious when I do play, is the number of tier Xs around now. As Mastodon2 says. It used to be the occasional T10, now it seems there are often 3, 4 or 5 on each side in a match and if you're not in a T10, you may as well not be there. (I sold my only T10 as I didn't get on with it!)

If you've ever wondered what is going through your teammates minds, check this video out from Anfield on the US server. Hilarious, and yet scary too...

Anfield is the one with the clearest voice and the somewhat bemused responses. He is worth checking out on Twitch and Youtube too, very good player.

There's still some fkwits out there at Tier 10 though, I managed to get the third highest score in my tier 8 T34 in a tier 10 game today, and I wouldn't consider myself a particularly great player

Took advantage of the discount the other day to buy a KV-2, but it took me until today to get enough credits to equip and crew it. It's slow but it's fun, just had a game where I fired 8 shots, 6 hits, 5 kills (I was 4 for 4 at one point, the other hit took the target to 3% and someone else finished him off), sharpshooter, master gunner and reaper. And we still lost frown

On my Cruiser II, I'm running Gun Laying Drive, Vents and Optics.

Crew as follows (iirc)

Commander - 6th sense, camo.
Gunner - camo, the one that makes him aim better on the move.
Driver - camo, smooth ride.
Radio Op - camo
Loader - camo

The last two fell behind because they couldn't fit in the VIC, which I used to use as a trainer. I'm going to go down my normal route of recon, deadeye, clutch braking, sit. awareness and.. ummm.. safe stowage I guess next, rather than BIA, because they have such varying training levels.

There seems to be a growing proportion of players who load gold by default now, irrespective of tier or who they are shooting at. It's just too cheap relative to the benefit it brings. If it was made ruinously expensive then it might at least only be used as a last resort. Pretty ridiculous at T2 though yeah - was it a sealclubber using it? If so then just totally lame.

Tbh I run gold ammo in any gun where there's a significant advantage. ( There's a lot where it's pointless imo ).
I never use gold for the ammo, I run a Lowe to generate credits, and I always seem to generate a reasonable income..

I train everyone at Repairs, then switch it to BIA once complete. Then train everyone on Repairs as second skill. Sixth Sense is great. Can't say that I've noticed too much improvement with any of the other skills though.

Haha, yes a decent game in the Lowe pays for 3 or 4 shots with the FV(183).
I'm finding the Lowe is rolling consistently 360-390 DMG at the moment... Has it has a subtle buff raising the lower end of the damage scale recently?
