OK, I have just found out about this game. It is FANTASTIC! I have spent hundreds of pounds of 'top-rated AAA' games, and 9 times out of 10 have felt very undewhelmed. But this game is fun in its purest form - and it's free!
Even my step-son, who usually plays the COD's on his X Box has downloaded it after playing it on my PC.

Is there anyone who still plays this on here?
Oh Yes! tank

Loving it but I live at work 5 days a week with only a mobile internet connection - not good enough for WoT and weekends are mostly family so my time on this is very limited. Prob a good thing as I am hopelessly addicted to it - like other posters I never play online games/MMOs etc got really bored very quickly with CoD Black Ops, but this is horrendous fun. To me. ahem. nerd

Got a StuG III with the long barrelled 75mm cannon and it really spanks some big tank ass! Just trying to chip away upto the Jagdpanzer but I think the hard reset at the end of the Beta will defeat me - heyho. Also working up a PzIIIa and a T-34. Awesome.

I'm hoping it comes sooner not later as it'll be the easiest way into a heavy for me (pre-order offers). Seems most people with T9/10 heavies got there during the 5x XP period - before I joined - and it's getting slow now around tier 5-6 ish for me. Money is also getting tight... my worst choice was buying the binoc telescope which made zero difference I could tell. I'll have XP to move from my SU-100 TD to a 152 soon, but will probably be about a million credits short....

Also, 11,000 then 23,000 XP to research the engines on my VK3601?!!! (if I remember the name correctly...) It's going to be a real slug when I put the big turret and gun on, but at the moment I need to HE most stuff to stand a chance of damaging frown

I only have a PZK PFW 38 as my best tank right now. Mine looks like a Dinkey Toy compared to the rest! Still fun though.

23000 Xp!! Aye caramba - I hope you mean credits.....

The only thing that annoys me about this game is the bl**dy matchmaking system - despite having a fairly average set of tanks I seem to spend my whole time getting matched with majority very high tier tanks - Tiger, T43, T1, Su100 etc. It's pretty demoralising when you take a close shot at one of those monsters and do 10% damage, then get wasted! It is an utter joy when it is a bit more of a level playing field (or you get a couple of n00bs in a Leichtraktor!).

Still loving it but given how randomly I actually have time to play it, not sure I can warrant paying to do so after the hard reset frown

The telescope only works when you are stationary (as does the camo net). so it is only good to be used on artillery or a scouting tank that gets to a nice vantage point and just lights up the dots for teammates to take them out, whilst going undetected.

I am still playing this. Currently have a T34-85, STUG III, JagdPanzer IV, JagdPanther and an M5. Not really concentrating on going up the tiers further at the moment as I will have to start from scratch after the hard wipe. Just having fun playing the game.

I put it on my SU-100 TD. TD's are meant to sit in ambush so I figured it'd be a help - whack them before they can see me. Still getting killed by invisible tanks, and having mediums pop up 30 metres away frown

It might work properly when (if) they fix the spotting, but for now a waste of 1/2 million credits.

Nope.

To be fair, there has to be a balance between leveling up and all battles being tier 10 after a week, but I think the current balance may stop people who are more casual players enjoying after about tier 5 when suddenly previously steady, noticable, progress comes pretty much to a halt. I don't know where the balance is, tho.... maybe a max XP/day limit? (Still earn credits though).

Having premium is definatly worth it for both XP and credits though.

This spotting issue is really noticeable on the Karelia map. I usually sit behind the bushes/rocks right at the base. A tank will disappear into the dip around the southern base and disappear and will only reappear when they are practically right on top of me. It makes a mockery of attempting a proper defense on this map.

I have noticed this, too! I now have the Hetzer tank destroyer, and wait for the enemy to come into view - only for them to disappear as I am about to fire. next thing I know, that same tank is right on top of me!

Don't mean to be condescending or anything but any movement other than aiming will take you out of the camo net's bonus. Firing also makes you rather visible.

Other tanks appearing on top of you may be that their crew has pumped camo.

I play as Arty and t-34 and never had such game breaking issues...
Can stay well hidden in my t34 too ost of the time

The release date for the pay game is supposed to be in April. But I would take that with a pinch of salt as it's been moved back a couple of times already. When they launch the pay game they will do a hard wipe so you will lose everything and be back to square one apart from having an account.

My understanding is that you can still play the game for free but you will have zero gold and will have to exist on credits alone.

I haven't played for a few weeks, infact I stopped shortly after gettingmy Jagdtiger. It is massive, powerful, but very, very slow! I think with an engine upgrade it will be alright, I was just very underwhelmed by its speed. I'd used the best part of 300000 experience to upgrade from the previous tank!

I don't move anything once I'm hidden - sit with the RMB pressed to make sure! I also pan the camera around and check I'm covered by the bush.

The enemy tanks shouldn't be in camo when moving, either.... new patch is supposed to do a lot of work on this; release date keeps going backwards tho as with every game ever.

I decided some time ago not to consider these things game breakers..... look at the tanks and the tiny slots you'd get to see out of, it's amazing tank crews can see anything around them at all!

I play the russian client version and tere is no talk about paid game (you can purchase gold and other items with real money though) perhaps that is being ru on a different game build because i get none of the problems you have described.

Also, it is amazing how much of a difference where you place your shots makes. was up against a heavier tank so started aiming for the bit where the turret joins the main body and did some damage. other shots kept not penetrating the armor...
