Yes, I agree on the NV DLCs. I didn't bother with Dead Money as the premise didn't appeal to me. I did get Honest Hearts and it was very weak, although the sub-story of the Survivalist who started the legend of the Sorrows' "Father of the Cave" god was very moving - if you didn't piece together all the pieces then it's all here on the Wiki (spoiler, obviously)

I've bought Old World Blues and Lonesome Road mainly because I'm bored at the moment and they're not expensive. I don't have very high hopes for them; Lonesome Road has got particularly bad reviews as being very linear and boring.
I found Old world blues and Lonesome Road to be worth the money, i got lonesome road while i was off work a few weeks ago with a leg injury and it was good. If you havent got dead money you will miss out in terms off back story which is something i love about fallout. TBH NV was never going to be as good as FO3, it was something Black isle/obsidean could have aplay with while Bethsteda worked on the Skyrim so for that im happy.

Thanks for that. Maybe I'll read up on the back story or maybe I'll get Dead Money then. It's just the explosive collar thing doesn't appeal to me - I didn't like The Pitt for much the same reason.

Wait... what??

bds!!! I bought it earlier today, along with Old World Blues and Gun Runners Arsenal at 50% off and they're now all 75% off!!

Oh well, it's only a few quid I suppose but it's still bloody annoying!

I think Old World Blues is worth getting solely for the K9000 Cyberdog gun. hehe

K9000 cyberdog gun

This weapon is actually a peculiar form of cyberdog, except instead of a robotic body in the image of a canine companion a living dog's brain has been provided with a machine gun frame, utilizing .357 magnum ammunition. Its "canine" features include two metallic "ears" mounted on top of the weapon that move like a real dog's, and a sniffer mounted on the jar containing its preserved brain, allowing the gun to sense its surroundings.

I'm actually really enjoying this DLC so far. I almost snorted my drink when one of the scientist brainbots accused me of having tiny penises on the ends of my feet and hands (their grasp of anatomy has got a bit muddled over the centuries)

Update: Just finished it and I have to say I loved it. Really genuinely funny in places and lots of "flavour" to keep it interesting unlike Honest Hearts.

If you haven't played it yet I'd really recommend it.

Well if Fallout 4 can be as well put together as Skyrim is to Oblivion then bring it on but not for at least 4 months so that I can relly run Skyrim out.

I heard skyrim is a beautiful game from a graphics point of view but the gameplay is a little dull at times? Like riding a horse for 30 minutes and not seeing anyone.

I don't even care if the next fallout uses the same graphics I think its part of its charm, but fallout is the only game I look forward to.

As a long time player of both I'm of the opinion they are so closely related, but you have to go into each with a completely different mind set, that way I'm sure anyone who likes one but hasn't tried the other will be totally drawn in. When Fallout first came out my immediate thoughts were this is Oblivion with guns and loved it and I think for those who have only played the Fallout series Skyrim is Fallout with swords, magic and dragons.

I haven't yet played Skyrim, but having played Morrowing and Oblivion to death I do think I prefer the TES levelling system much more than the one used in the Fallout games.

Interesting. I'm half-enclined to give it a go.

Right now I'm playing Lonesome Road. Only just started but already I think Ulysses is a dick. I base that on the holotapes of him I found in Old World Blues, his communication to me via ED-E and the first holotape of his you find in Lonesome Road.

Edit: And having finished it I still think he's a dick.

Resurrecting this for a bit of help.

I'm just getting into this and have run into a really fking annoying situation.

I'm raiding the NCRF, have fought through the visitor centre no problem but for some unknown reason Sergeant Lee is now hunting me down and killing me.

I'm not wearing a powder ganger outfit or anything obvious but the little st keeps on finding me wherever I run to and killing me.

On one playthrough I managed to avoid him long enough for someone else to kill Eddie, leading to a "mission complete" message and everything calming down. Then Lee appeared and killed me.

Any ideas before I wipe it off the hard drive to avoid the frustration?

Can't help you there dude but heres a bump. Can't you load up on stim packs and run away?

I'm just downloading the "Lonesome Road" downloadable content. I wasn't sure which one to do first as I haven't tried any of them. Looking forward to it, it makes me feel like a total nerd but i love this game lol!

I'd suggest in the order they were released. And Lonesome Road is the final one released, so you're doing it a bit backwards. smile

Bugger, it was the one at the top of the list so i thought it would have been the first one. Oh well, i'm a bit backwards anyway.

The DLCs were released in the following order:

  • Dead Money
  • Honest Hearts
  • Old World Blues
  • Lonesome Road
I didn't bother with Dead Money as it didn't appeal to me, although apparently it is has backstory that is referenced in Old World Blues (which is the DLC I enjoyed the most, incidentally), and both are referenced in Lonesome Road.

It's not the end of the world if you do them out of order, but it gives a more complete experience if you do them in order.

there is a console command, setaggression to 0 (or something like that)which will calm him down
if you are on xbox or PS3 then I dont know...
