Cheers mate. The dead money one doesn't appeal to me either, i'll be skipping it!

The hacking seems a bit off on this DLC. For example it will say 0/7 letters correct, but when i finally get the right code it had some letters of the 0/7. Strange.

Can't help you there dude but heres a bump. Can't you load up on stim packs and run away?

I'm just downloading the "Lonesome Road" downloadable content. I wasn't sure which one to do first as I haven't tried any of them. Looking forward to it, it makes me feel like a total nerd but i love this game lol!
Thanks for the bump.

It's autosaved just after I exit the reception area so can't get any more stim packs, I've tried running and hiding but he just hunts me down.

Lesson learned about relying on autosave.

there is a console command, setaggression to 0 (or something like that)which will calm him down
if you are on xbox or PS3 then I dont know...
Xbox, there is a game difficulty option so might stick it on easy and see if I can do a better job of keeping out of his way.

Thanks.

Thought i'd update my DLC experience.

Completed Lonesome Road, I was surprised how tough the enemies were in this one! And the final fight took me a few goes.

Moved onto Honest Hearts now and i'm enjoying it more than Lonesome Road so far. Quite enjoy the exploring and dialogue.

I found both rather poor, but Old World Blues was good. Mostly because I liked the humour of it. They were all a little weak though if you compare them with Fo3's "Point Lookout" and "Broken Steel".

I suppose they are a bit poor in a way, but i never expect a lot from downloadable content. I never did play the FO3 dlc, I might do those next because i'm sick of waiting for a new fallout game, its going to be next year now isn't it.

I read somewhere the next fallout may take place in Boston. But its all speculation.

Broken Steel is superb because it extends the main story line and really is essential play. And Point Lookout is pretty much a mini-Fallout in some swamp land. It had a good story too.

The others were, at the time, a little weak. But better than the Fo:NV ones, in hindsight.

Just getting through DLC now. Picked it up in steam sales rather than Xbox where I completed the game.

Enjoying console commands! Got the strangers .44 magnum. 1 shoting everything is much better! Didn't really fancy doing the game again to get the xp, guns etc in order to do theDLC

Well i've been off for a week after having some surgery, thought i'd download Dead Money DLC just to kill some time.

It's rather tedious, lots of annoying traps, weapons aren't much fun, just feels like a drag. I'll persevere and complete it but it i can't seem to play it for longer than 30 minutes at a time.

Old World Blues is the only one worth doing. The rest are exceedingly tedious, as you say.

Edit: Also, hope it's nothing serious and you get well soon.

Edit2: Although having said that, the story of the Survivalist who becomes The Father in the first DLC is very poignant. The DLC itself is still crap though.

Cheers mate. I've gotta say the old world blues was the one that interested me the least based on its description. I'll give it a go. Would be good if they made another DLC for FNV but i can't see it happening if they are making a new one.

Bit of a thread rivival. But I gave up playing New Vegas (ps3) when it first came out because of it freezing/locking my ps3 every 10 minutes or so. (Even though I was level 25 ish and nearing the end of the original quest line.

I decided to give it another blast from the start over the last week or so. Back up to level 20 ish without one freeze, and it's just started locking again. banghead Unplayable really, Such a shame as I was really getting back into it.

I remember it being a well known problem at the time, was a fix ever found?

Pain in the arse. FO3 had the same problem. I think it's to do with caching of the game data, and I seem to remember it was mooted that deleting the game data would help. I never tried it though.

Never had the problem with FO3 frown

Tried the above last night, and clearing the cache. Neither worked. Such a shame,

Thanks anyway!

ProTip: Don't play Bethesda games on consoles. Most of the bugs on the PC version either gets a fan patch or can be fixed on the go using console commands.

Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Oblivion all had the same problems.

It's hit and miss though, I've over 500 hours on the xbox 360 between FNV and FO3 with no issues (except a graphical glitch once when I left a game in case on the exhaust of the xbox...), while other people get 3 hours in.

I appreciate what you're saying re: the console, but I can honestly say that I have never experienced (or maybe "noticed" is a better word!) any glitches when playing FO3, FO:NV or Skyrim on my Xbox 360. And they're literally the only games I've played in the past 3 years or so, with hundreds of hours clocked-up in each.

I've found mine to freeze sometimes with Fallout, but was always playable after a reboot.

Playing skyrim at the moment and haven't noticed anything, maybe some slow frame rates at times. It's not as good as Fallout imo.

edit: i play on an xbox

I revisited Fo:NV recently.

It seems the mod community is still alive and well, and still modding the hell out of this game even after so long.

Nevada Skies has really improved the atmosphere and immersion. It gives rain storms, sandstorms, radstorms, different weather, and also makes night time *really* dark (but variably - it gets progressively darker as the night wears on. Some nights are starry and some are cloudy and pitch black).

Also, New Vegas Bounties has been expanded by the same guy to include New Vegas Bounties II, The Inheritance, and a companion called Russell with an extensive quest and side quests. Collectively referred to as the "Someguy series".

There's another quest mod called "The New Bison Steve and Lucky Casino" that involves helping turning the Bison at Primm into a working hotel and casino, which was quite good, although there were rather a lot of fetch quests on it.

Finally, I've just recently installed "Willow - A Better Companion" which is proving quite fun.

All of the above are fully voiced. Willow extensively so - she has a *lot* of chatter (although you can tell her to shut up as a dialogue option if it gets on your nerves).

Given nights are so dark now due to the Nevada Skies mod, I balanced that out with "Advanced Recon Thermal Nightvision" which has proved to be quite cool.

Also, I had never got round to playing the Dead Money DLC so I bought that for £3.99 and installed it. It was ok, but nothing special. The main quest for Russell in the Someguy series was as good if not better, I thought.

I already had the Gun Runners Arsenal (GRA) DLC but since I bought that late on I never really explored it in great detail. So now I'm having great fun doing one-shot kills on Deathclaws using the GRA version of the Anti-Material with .50 cal exploding rounds. Sweet.
Additionally, .50 cal Incendiary rounds are most amusing.

A mate was recently showing me some of the mods he was running on this (a lot), and I have to say it did look a lot of fun. There were a few graphical mods, but most were weapons/ammo related. Some of them were just crazy.

For me though NV just never gripped me like Fallout 3 did. I played about 50 or so hours still, but I just didn't get that compulsion to keep coming back to it like I did with 3 & it's DLCs (or that I'm currently getting with Skyrim).

Funnily enough said mate has just picked up the GOTY edition of number 3 himself having never played it before as he went straight into New Vegas. Will be interesting to see what his thoughts are on Fallout 3 after spending > 300hours on NV!

I keep seeing it sat in my Steam library and I know at some point I will give it a proper play through, but I've also got borderlands 2 in there yet to be installed so it might be a while rotate
