Go to the room closest to the vents - the one with the computer in it. Lob a grenade out the door towards the vents and shut the door. That room will protect you. None of the others do, including if you run down to the cave.... Been there, done that.

Uh, you might want to search his room............ I have now raised the B29 and am just working for the Brotherhood of Steel (really I am using them to get some power armour, they better train me up) - that firken Repton building is just full of sentry bots - I killed a plasma rifle and rocket launcher firing so much to kill them, and my entire set of pulse and plasma nades....... Starting to think I should go ask boone to join me instead of Cass and Rex !!

There are usually ways around these types of problems. Or you can (as I rather sadly did) create a document which lists all the things you can't do and their locations............. Then go back when you have the right level (or a booklet which gives you enough of a boost)..Does anyone know where that fecking laser pistol is for the Brotherhood of Steel ? ANd where the sod is who gives you the quest about the Elder, I've got information and now I can't find the sod to tell him...

Does anybody know whats going on with the Birds of a Feather quest were you work as a guard for the silver rush guys at Freeside?
I was doing the mission guarding the door until eventually a guy trying to get revenge attacks you so you and the other guard kill him.
But then nothing happens? The other guard tell you to help him witht the body but there isn't anything you can do? If you try and drag the body away he attacks you for leaving and if you stay put nothing happens and he just stands there.
Is this a bugged mission or do I need to do something hidden?

I found the guy but can't find the laser pistol, the guy at the range told me one of the initiates was using it last but I can't find him, searched the place top to bottom.
The Laser Pistol is at Scorpion Gulch, just travel there and look on the rocks as it is sat on top of a rock next to a dead Wastelander - DO NOT USE EXPLOSIVES to kill the scorpions in there though or else the gun will fly off to goodness only knows where.Matt_N said:

He says he lost it out when hunting scorpions with the Laser Pistol. I had searched the entire base though and was getting p**ed off so I started to search all pathways away looking for a body - found one on the way to Scorpion Gulch but pistol was no-where there either - got even more P****ed off.. Came down a hill and saw another body along with a fair few scorpions and whilst I was looking on the large rocks I saw a body on a small rock in the middle, and the laser pistol was next to it. It is identified as "Missing laser pistol" (I tried to just hand in one of my own laser pistols as well......). It is NOT exactly the "high rocks" that you are led to believe, it's right in the bottom part of the valley in fact.I couldn't find anyone to give me any more info in the bunker.
I haven't found Scorpion Gulch yet so I'll check the wiki to see where it is.

The only info you get from Stanton is a bit crap really, I spent ages on that.

This might be of use:It is possible to become locked out of The Strip's main gate. The prerequisite actions may be taken, but the door will remain locked, requiring a key the player can only get from killing the Securitrons outside the gate. The best way to do this is to shoot one of the Securitrons from afar while hidden and to make sure to kill it with a critical. This way, the others will not attack and you are free to collect it's gate key. If you happen to have the robotics expert perk you can also shut down all the Securitrons and kill one of the robots even though it says you shut it down.

You could also have gotten a few quests from the Legion chaps but if you've killed them all I am guessing that won't happen now.....

how do you get power armour proficiency?And yes, I meant Lucky 38.... I have found my "followers" there before. Or the other thing I do is just fast travel somewhere, anywhere, and turn around. Sometimes they just appear there behind you.
And BTW if anyone hasn't yet gone into Vault 3, I suggest you do, it's great fun and there are quite a few weapons to pick up too (but not in the f***ng weapon vault!!)....
