He's in a bunker, and apparently nobody (from the NCR) knows his whereabouts, so just do what you have to do.
Also, you have to "deal with him", not "kill him" wink I never even saw that guy!

A couple of questions.

Weapon mods ? Where do these appear or how do I get them. I haven't seen a single one yet!

You buy them from people you trade with - but it depends on your level - you can get upgrades from the Gun Runners quite often. There is also an arms dealer at the place where you collect Veronica (under the bridge) and a woman from the NCR on the bridge

As soon as I walk into the silver rush building in freeside (the one that sells arms) I get blasted away! I didn't even know I had annoyed these people, why are they attacking me ?

They tell you to stand still at the outside - there is a guard, you need to surrender your weapons to him first

What can you use to kill deathclaws. In Fallout 3 I used the dart gun to slow them down but the dart gun isn't in Fallout:NV so I have no way to slow them down! They just tear me to shreds.

Sniper rifle is helpful, but they are tougher in NV than F3 to me!

Where's the best place to find some nice armour. I'd love the power armour from the Brotherhood of Steel, but I accidentally wandered into their bunker in the middle of nowhere and they stuck an explosive collar on my neck and told me to deal with an NCR ranger. I don't really want to do this as I'm quite popular with the NCR. Right now I'm using recon armour which I think has a rating of 17.

The NCR ranger is fine you can talk him into leaving, you don't have to kill him. When you do loads of tasks for the BoS they will teach you how to use their power armour. But wearing it will attract the NCR who will try to kill you....... It's actually easier to my mind to nick good Combat Armour (say from the sacked caravan to the West of the Gun Runner Shack) - or if you can sneak into where the Gun Runners are and kill the guard and nick their armour....

Most annoying enemy in the game so far for me has to be those flying bugs that infect you with a poison! I'm sick of having to use antivenom trying to kill them. Them and Deathclaws.

A flamethower hurts them, as do the other bullets (name escapes me right now) but they are b***rds all right... In an ideal world I snipe them at range with a silenced rifle and then switch to a fully auto gun to blast them - but until you've got decent weapons, try to avoid them!?!?

I got a few things from the Gun Runners, next to the rest stop on the way to Vegas from Novac. You then have to mod your weapons in the pipboy

Did you check your weapons with the guy at the entrance? there's always a way to get them back, so don't worry about doing that.

I pick lone deathclaws from a distance with a sniper rifle, usually by the time they are close they are pretty weak. If they are close and I am hidden, then I use missiles and hope for the best.

You'll need training for it don't forget!

Cazadores are a pain, I often tried to go round another way so I wouldn't have to bother, but I found it handy to have the stimpaks and antivenom "hotkeyed" on the D pad
This of course is my experience and there are probably many other ways to do things!

I totallay avoided deathclaws (esp quarry junction) until i had the anti-material rifle (takes about 4 or 5 shots to kill a deathclaw, the most powerful gun i've come across available from gun runners at a certain level) - missle launcher/fat man helps to knock them down a bit first.

One thing that really helps in fights is loading up on psycho and med-x. If you manage to get your hands on a sledge hammer called "oh baby", keep it as cazadores don't stand a change against it. You'll find it at a certain radio station i think.

With the explosive collar, as someone pointed out, you've just got to deal with the ranger and not kill him. I just asked him to leave. smile Might depend on your speech level.

The LMG with extended mags is good for the Cazadores as is a 10mm SMG (preferably with recoil damper and extended mags) - basically anything that can throw up a wall of lead.
Hotkeying the anti-venom is a good call - I did that too.

Fortunately very few of them respawn on subsequent visits to the area so the threat diminishes. One place they do seem to respawn is the wind farm though.

(Actually that's something I really dislike about Borderlands - an awful lot of enemies respawn which means you never really clear out an area)

I wondered why the cazadores kept respawning near my "home", which is el-dorado gas station (i keep all my wares here in boxes). Turns out theres a cazadore nest right behind which i only discovered with the "explorer" perk. They are a nightmare if your not equipped well enough.

Im buying borderlands tuesday on my day off so im rather looking forward to it, fed up of getting out-sniped on ebay so i'll just get it from a shop.

Just a note to xbox users re: fallout new vegas. There is a new update out, which for some people when you install the update it fails to load your save games. I had a little panic attack about 50 hours of savegames which had vanished. I'd suggest declining the update if possible.

If you load the update and your save games fail. Go to your dashboard>xbox settings>memory>hard drive>games>fallout nv, and delete a file called "update #3" and it'll delete the troublesome update and you'll be able to load your savegames again (providing you decline up the update).

Some people havn't had problems, others have like me, which had also effected the DLC.

Make sure you get the GotY Edition has it has all 4 DLCs.

It's a shame you missed out on the Steam sale. They had it at 75% off and I picked it up for £7.50 for the PC.

I completed Dead Money last night, I didn't particularly enjoy it TBH and after reading about some of the other DLC upcoming for NV I think the ending of Dead Money goes someway to ruining them before they're even released.

If you haven't bought it, either don't bother or wait until it's cheap. The guns are rubbish, the outfits are rubbish, the storyline is mediocre and (IMO) the gameplay is crap. I was thankful to finish it and get back to the Mojave.

I had much the same feeling about Mothership Zeta on Fallout3.

Given everything I've heard so far, including your post, I think I'll give it a miss.

Oh I notice on Steam there's a new DLC that was released on 17th May called "Honest Hearts"

Anyone know if it's any good?

The reviews I have read have been mixed, Jon. It sees you head off to the Zion National Park in Utah and introduces you to the Burned Man, aka Joshua Graham, one-time right hand to Caesar himself. It doesn't sound like a must-buy - but on the other hand it seems to have been better received than the first lot of DLC....

There's a useful round up at No Mutants Allowed:

"very little spent on actually giving the player much to do save for the aforementioned fetch/collect/kill quests. The story is short, almost cripplingly so, not out of a lack of content in the game world, but because there simply isn’t that much meat to it. There’s a huge amount of exposition to go over, but when it comes time to actually play, there’s not much left to do as far as the story’s concerned – walk around, deliver this, murder that, and then you get to choose which ending you want"

Pretty much sums up Fallout: New Vegas too. I know you're a courier but there really are too many fetch/collect/kill quests. It doesn't capture you the way Fallout3 did, but then you could argue that it's just a tired rehash anyway.

I expect better things of Fallout4, whenever we get that.

I dunno, I just can't summon up the enthusiasm for the DLCs of F:NV like I did for F3.

Incidentally, I'm still playing Borderlands. That's giving some seriously good value for money - the DLCs are superb too.

I feel much the same, I haven't even completed it.

Got Half Life 2; The Orange Box on the go instead.

A massive +1!

Can't wait until the new Elder Scrolls game comes out later in the year to see what the new platform is like. smile

I downloaded Honest Hearts the other day.

Not brilliant but not bad, the map is quite hard to navigate as there are a lot of mountain paths, caves and the like.

The quests are pretty simple, probably gave me 6 or 7 hours of playtime.

The annoying thing I've got now is that I was laying off from doing the final quest, I've sided with Mr House, used the chip to activate the securitrons and started the Hoover Dam bit.

I took out the Legion at the dam and then the Legates camp, then the NCR General appeared, I had to toast him as my skill wasn't high enough, then the game ended and the credits began.

It then went back to the title screen and I clicked continue as I guessed it would just put me back in New Vegas to roam as I pleased, but it keeps putting me back to the Legates camp pre massacre.

I thought the game would allow me to continue to roam, afterall this is the main game and if I hadn't downloaded the new content how would I play it?
