Changing gender can effect core missions (second time round I was a slut and slept with Benny then murdered him in his sleep hehe )
Oh, I wonder if the lady in the Thorn will still sleep with me now I am playing a female character........

banghead I know I've asked about this before. But now I'm level 29 nearly 30 and only have maybe 5 more places on the map to visit. But I STILL. can't kill everyone in Caesars tent!

Especially annoying as because psn is down I've spent a few hours tonight playing this and I can't get any further! Any tips? I just want the bloody chip!
C4 can be fun... Drop a load...

About 30 hours into this now biggrin

A couple of questions.

Weapon mods ? Where do these appear or how do I get them. I haven't seen a single one yet!

You buy them from people you trade with - but it depends on your level - you can get upgrades from the Gun Runners quite often. There is also an arms dealer at the place where you collect Veronica (under the bridge) and a woman from the NCR on the bridge

As soon as I walk into the silver rush building in freeside (the one that sells arms) I get blasted away! I didn't even know I had annoyed these people, why are they attacking me ?

They tell you to stand still at the outside - there is a guard, you need to surrender your weapons to him first

What can you use to kill deathclaws. In Fallout 3 I used the dart gun to slow them down but the dart gun isn't in Fallout:NV so I have no way to slow them down! They just tear me to shreds.

Sniper rifle is helpful, but they are tougher in NV than F3 to me!

Where's the best place to find some nice armour. I'd love the power armour from the Brotherhood of Steel, but I accidentally wandered into their bunker in the middle of nowhere and they stuck an explosive collar on my neck and told me to deal with an NCR ranger. I don't really want to do this as I'm quite popular with the NCR. Right now I'm using recon armour which I think has a rating of 17.

The NCR ranger is fine you can talk him into leaving, you don't have to kill him. When you do loads of tasks for the BoS they will teach you how to use their power armour. But wearing it will attract the NCR who will try to kill you....... It's actually easier to my mind to nick good Combat Armour (say from the sacked caravan to the West of the Gun Runner Shack) - or if you can sneak into where the Gun Runners are and kill the guard and nick their armour....

Most annoying enemy in the game so far for me has to be those flying bugs that infect you with a poison! I'm sick of having to use antivenom trying to kill them. Them and Deathclaws.

A flamethower hurts them, as do the other bullets (name escapes me right now) but they are b***rds all right... In an ideal world I snipe them at range with a silenced rifle and then switch to a fully auto gun to blast them - but until you've got decent weapons, try to avoid them!?!?

I had much the same feeling about Mothership Zeta on Fallout3.

Given everything I've heard so far, including your post, I think I'll give it a miss.
Agreed.

  1. There are a hell of a lot of 'fetch' missions in F:NV which don't really progress the story and seem to have been thrown in as padding. Ok, you're a courier but that seems a rather lame justification.
  2. F:NV just doesn't move things on from Fo3. There is no sense of wonder - it feels like "more of the same"; like a glorified Fo3 DLC
Agreed, the fetch missions were rather annoying and just a matter of fast travelling etc or worse, spending ages just wombling around the place.. There are still a fair few hidden missions etc which are fun, but not in the same way as FO3.

The only thing it moves on is different types of ammo as far as I could tell really. And a few new weapon mods (but then you didn't build weapons like in FO3 (the poison dart gun was my favorite!) which were nice.. But then I'd have been just as happy with FO3 having those additions and a few new DLCs for maps etc..
