Played GT5 this morning and my intitial reaction was "meh".
Premium cars look stunning, standard cars look very average.
Tracks aren't all that detailed to be honest but the lighting really makes them look good.
Nordschleife and La Sarthe are epic.
Night racing looks great, rain looks crap especially compared to F1 2010.
Some cars sound great but most that I've tested still sound like hairdryers.
Physics/handling is nice but not a huge leap forward, much closer to Forza 3 than any pc sim.
Damage is crap.
Licences are dull as dishwater.
Not a fan of the menus at all.
All in all a bit of a letdown considering the hype and development time but its still a great racing game.
In which mode can you access Nordschleife?Premium cars look stunning, standard cars look very average.

Couldn't see it in GT Practice or Arcade Time Trial.....

I don't want to start a massive bun fight here, but... Forza doesn't have much to worry about if this is the best they can do in years of development. There's some big improvements over GT4, but really, I'm getting less and less interested in this game, and I've only had it a few hours.
The graphics aren't bad at all, the physics aren't exactly revolutionary, the damage is laughable, the exhaust notes sound like the microphone was in a bean can during recording. It's starting to bug me already.
Shall see how it develops.
Well no-one said it was going to be the most amazing driving game in the world The graphics aren't bad at all, the physics aren't exactly revolutionary, the damage is laughable, the exhaust notes sound like the microphone was in a bean can during recording. It's starting to bug me already.

Given the hype this game has received, and the constant delays being imposed on it's release because they want to make it so amazing and super and lovely, I don't see why it's beyond criticism nor why it shouldn't be compared to the competition with some very tall expectations. Being as the only person not actually talking about the game in the thread, is you, perhaps it's time to wind your neck in until you've something worth posting that isn't just some social commentary drivel, don't you?

What's wrong with some people not liking the game, or giving their honest opinion of the game.

Not too much to ask surely?

Put the crack pipe down and ignore the negative posts if you don't like it being objectively reviewed. I'm not going to universally sing it's praises when I think there's some things that are disappointing, especially when someone has asked what others think of the game.

Stu, you could well make a career out these gems
If I wasn't so busy mopping up spilt milk so poor CosworthV8 can stop crying I'd consider it, frankly. God forbid anyone at a magazine gives it a bad review, he'll be sending them boxes of his droppings.

I was going to suggest directing your turds at Polyphony, but if their mail department is as slow as their game development department, they'll arrive as priceless fossils. Best you hang onto them chap
