GT5, any good ?
Discussion
I don't want to start a massive bun fight here, but... Forza doesn't have much to worry about if this is the best they can do in years of development. There's some big improvements over GT4, but really, I'm getting less and less interested in this game, and I've only had it a few hours.
The graphics aren't bad at all, the physics aren't exactly revolutionary, the damage is laughable, the exhaust notes sound like the microphone was in a bean can during recording. It's starting to bug me already.
Shall see how it develops.

No need for me to add a PS3 to the christmas wish list then? The graphics aren't bad at all, the physics aren't exactly revolutionary, the damage is laughable, the exhaust notes sound like the microphone was in a bean can during recording. It's starting to bug me already.

Please don't let it be true The graphics aren't bad at all, the physics aren't exactly revolutionary, the damage is laughable, the exhaust notes sound like the microphone was in a bean can during recording. It's starting to bug me already.

Crap sounds, will they never learn
Bunch of plonkers.
I think the damage is better on the patched versions though!?
Hopefully DLC etc will sort lots of stuff out that is wrong, but I think plenty will be left as is because they just can't be arsed. KY is a bit of a spaz really isn't he. Needs to start getting his finger out of his arse and making his dream game (one where stuff looks good but sounds crap), and get into the land of commerical game making!

Well no-one said it was going to be the most amazing driving game in the world The graphics aren't bad at all, the physics aren't exactly revolutionary, the damage is laughable, the exhaust notes sound like the microphone was in a bean can during recording. It's starting to bug me already.

I dont have it yet but it looks like its going to be disappointing.
800 (Sub)Standard cars that cant be changed visually
Low number of tracks (many have been around for years as well)
Only a few Premium cars can have Race modification
The racing looks as stale as ever
Naff Sound and Music as always
No livery editor
Rally tracks 20m wide again
Lots of recent cars missing
Its a half finished game by the looks of it. Can anyone correct me on these? How is the online?

Haha, I actually just came on here to see whether anyone had any recomendations as to where to buy it from to get the best 'stealth car'.. I was about to order a copy.
Having read the above though, I may keep my 40 quid for now to read a few more responses.
Got to say I'm a little disapointed though. Me and a mate bought our PS3's last christmas in preperation for its release. And now it looks like it's a bit duff.
Oh well, at least F1 2010 is keeping me smiling

Played GT5 this morning and my intitial reaction was "meh".
Premium cars look stunning, standard cars look very average.
Tracks aren't all that detailed to be honest but the lighting really makes them look good.
Nordschleife and La Sarthe are epic.
Night racing looks great, rain looks crap especially compared to F1 2010.
Some cars sound great but most that I've tested still sound like hairdryers.
Physics/handling is nice but not a huge leap forward, much closer to Forza 3 than any pc sim.
Damage is crap.
Licences are dull as dishwater.
Not a fan of the menus at all.
All in all a bit of a letdown considering the hype and development time but its still a great racing game. The track numbes are low and very stale and the choice of cars is also quite dissappointing, many classics and modern cars are missing
