Thanks for that, Dolphin Diving sounds very lame.
When you have someone in your 'scope and you see them do that, it looks ridiculous. Bunnyhopping less so but still.

£40 for the PC version.

I'm not going to pre-order yet though. I'm going to wait for the details of the limited Edition to be released before i do.

BC2 was dissapointing in the way that you got early access to a couple of wepons and vehicle perks which can then be unlocked pretty early on in the game.

If its unique or special weapons - like the Re-skinned Krylov you got in BF2142 then ill go for it. If not i'll wait until a month after release and then play when the inevitable server and connection problems die down....

I am getting pretty excited over this though. City warfare will be awesome - especially if its around New York and Paris like it's rumered. Jets are another massive +1. The choppers in BC2 are crap.

I'm also waiting to see computer spec requirements! I would imagine its going to be a pretty demanding game. Hopefully my 9800GT and 4gig of ram should handle it, although graphics cards are getting so cheap now i may upgrade and i have enough room to expand RAM.

the LE gets you access to "Back to Karkand" a month early, and it's free. It will be paid DLC eventually.

Even though the PC version is the lead version, I'll be buying on Xbox, too used to controller based action these days!
Here's hoping the console versions aren't too cut back...

Well judging by the software they are chucking at the PC version I doubt the consoles will have all the bells and whistles, the 360 isnt even DX10 compatible so I cant see it running DX11.

Glad Dice have decided to listen to the fan base and make it for the PC and then Port it to consoles and not the other way round.

Looks as if it may be more console focused as I have read they won't be offering editing software with this game.

Probably just cut the players down from 64 tbh

4 redone maps from BF2, more weapons, achievements etc - less of just a map, more an expansion pack.

On a similar topic, there's a mod for the PC version of BF2 which allows 128 players:

That's vaguely mental, somewhere like Wake Island is congested enough on a 64 size limit, the deck of the carrier would be swamped!

Well i went for it and pre ordered.

I went with Amazon but both amazon and play have it for £29.99 on PC - Only the EA store has it at £39.99!

The fact the map pack is included made me pre order. If the maps were unlockable or whatever for free i wouldnt have bothered - but as they will be Paid DLC i may as well go for it.

Think I'll do the same too. I started reading some initial gumpf last night and what I was reading sounded good. If I had some extra cash at the moment, I'd really like to buy an iMac, but I don't. So I can't. Shame as it'd look epic on a nice big 24" cinema screen.

Get on Steam Omnio! hehe

Much easier to track when people are playing the game without having to load the game up first.

(Ps: What was your bro's gametag again?)

How come?

I've used Steam for a fair few years now (mainly for CS:s), and havent had too many issues to recall.

REALLY want to dig out my copy of BF2 now after reading this thread.

Although I will probably get cained online, as the only time I ever played it was when I was testing the Armoured Fury expasion at EA. so I only ever played it for a few months tops...

Look out for Bouncyhippo on 2F4Y Karkand or Gotland's citymap server.

Electronic Arts will unveil Battlefield 3 this March.

The publisher confirmed to the media it will host an unveil event for the game on Mar. 1, 2011, taking place during the week of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Additionally, EA says it will also have new game announcements as well as hands-on time with many upcoming titles, including: Shadows of the Damned, Alice Madness Returns, Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning, and Crysis 2.

Those who purchased the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor this past fall received an invitation to the Battlefield 3 beta. Details about the beta's release date have not been announced.

Battlefield 3 is expected to ship in 2011.
