Just got this on the PS3.... will probably now have to build a capable computer to play it properly! Its gonna take me a while to get my eye in with the dual shock controller, its just not linear enough for me theres nothing for the first mm or so of the analogue stick then you suddenly get everything and you're flailing about looking at the sky.

Plus with only 24 players max, some of the maps feel a bit empty. It looks great though, even on the PS3. I played the single player some and its really not too bad, perhaps not CoD slick, but worth a punt. AI way too accurate though, but that happens with most games (like fallout for example, with some raider able to land every shot on you from a distance with his absolutely knackered assault rifle that when in your hands wouldn't hit a barn door from 5 ft and breaks 15 shots into a mag)
You can get a perfectly capable PC for not a huge amount these days TBH. Do you have anything you can use already? KB? Mouse? Monitor etc?

Quite enjoying the private matches now.
Have "gatecrashed" a few, i get kicked out from some, but i was in a 1000 point firestorm conquest match for over an hour. Used it to build up my attack heli but 7000 points and tank my 5000.

Didnt care about winning or my K/D ratio as i just wanted the heli points. biggrin

Yeah I know, its just doing it.

I have a second monitor attached to this iMac... an old Dell 2005FPW (yes IPS goodness), I have a spare KB and there is a old wireless mouse which is way to twitchy for my liking. I also have an old A64 machine in an Antec P160 case. I can reuse the case no problems and the DVD drives. But the old SLI motherboard will have to go out along with the DDR 1 and A64 3200+ they are just too old now. The power supply probably won't cut it either, though it is a good quality Seasonic S12, it only delivers 380watts.

All I need is new CPU, GPU, Ram, Motherboard, Hard disk and possibly a new PSU and I'll be good to go. Would like to play it on high settings mind at 1680x1050 so not sure what level of GPU Ill need

interesting to read about hit-box issues again though. This is something they failed to get right with BF2!! why is it still wrong?

I remember in BF2 unlocking the .50 cal sniper rifle and it was still taking 2 head shots to kill people, even at close range.

After going on a Littlebird rampage with Eybic in the back fixing me uo, got to about 40 ish kills and one death, another 500 odd tickets to go, we both got kicked by admin. I rejoin then onn the other side this time get about another 16 kills, round changes then I get banned... WTF

I suppose I should take it as a compliment. Bit ghey though
Would that 'one death' have been the glory tank main gun kill I got after my multiple rpgs got annulled by that bd eybic?! wink

I properly love the big ticket servers, can see that for the first time they'll be value to saving some favourites....

Played a serious op metro server today. fking hell. I felt like a weekend paintballer thrown into Helmand province against special forces.

Saiga is a machine though.

Need to get some lmg kills, what's the best lmg? Used to use the type 88, bit want to get a service star in something else....

M249 has the fastest belt speed for
lmg's and was responsible for my first few LMG service stars till I unlocked the MG36 from the Karkland expansion. It reloads much faster at the expense of not quite so many bullets.

Has anyone got any tips for jets? I've seen how devastating they can be when used effectively but i just seem to turn around a few times before being taken out then give them a miss again.

Started working towards 200 kills since the patch, in order to get the extended mags - as much as I hate to say it, it's a brilliant wee gun! It's surprisingly deadly at range, given it's size.

You were indeed. Got me a fair few times.

I literally bounced around the room when I pulled it off, the missus looked on blankly.

I think in the course of yesterday I got 4 helis with unguided tank shells.

Need to load guided and partner up with someone in the third seat to knock out some jets.

Guided RPGs are much better to use now. Shorter range but useful.

Did I mention I love the big ticket servers? I do.

I'm thinkin gthe same about the ump-45 - surprisingly powerful but now the DM maps have been expanded PWRs are less effective.

the feedbck on the battlelog about the ptch I would say is about 75% negative. the hit registering issue is still a problem. I've ha to abandon my trusty m27IAR

not sure why suppression is causing so much of an issue. in real life if you were being shot at you'd duck out of the way...4 suppression kills for the ribbon is a bt low. 7 was too high so 5 would be better.

On the more open Maps Stingers can be useful for dropping these .... always like to think the Recon guys miles away is now stuck with nothing to do.

I think one of the 'problems' that people are complaining about with suppression is that if you 'miss' the person they get suppressed, but if you hit them they don't.

I personally don't see what the big problem is.

Yes the recoil has been increased on most guns, but it just means people need to learn to used 'controlled bursts' more, and not just mash the trigger button as quickly.

That or just use the AS-Val, as that thing is now an absolute beast of a gun biggrin

It seems everyone is getting to grips with the AS-Val. I was using it, single shot, on a hardcore map and was shooting people from some distance, dropping them in 2-5 shots mainly. Most of them were headshots! It's a cracking little gun but really comes into it's own on tight maps where you can just throw all it's rounds in a few seconds. I love it.

What system do you play on? I've had a few good sessions now post-patch (on the PC) and can say I've seen no difference what-so-ever with the M27, it's still an absolute beast! biggrin

Unlocked guided missiles for helis last night... mwahahah

I can see why some people really dominate with helis. get it vaguely on target and you get hit after hit. can't wait to get back on and decimate some tanks!!

I had a game last night where I spawned on a flag that was being taken by 2 enemy. I didn't see them until I spawned, managed to fire off two solitary shots in their direction before getting killed, then someone on my team took them out and I got 2 x suppression bonus. For two bullets!

I've heard DICE admitted they took it too far and are planning to dial it down a little?

I think i'll give it another go at some point but with the lags i'm experiencing and the hit registering issues it seemed to affect my loadout alot...

i must try the as-val too by all accounts
