I must admit, the whole 'Client side hit detection' is really quite annoying; especially with the lag involved.

The amount of times I've been comfortably behind cover...only to end up dead because on his side, I was still out in the open.

Has almost cost me a new mouse, and monitor due to the resultant rage

I've experienced exactly this too- I just couldn't work out what it was or come up with a way to describe it accurately! Cheers

So is this something new since the big patch or has it been made worse? It certainly seems like I am having more hit detection issues since the patch was released.

It's always been 'Client side', and not really something they can change so easily, i think.

But it's just bloody annoying


Not sure if the patch has made it worse though, but haven't really played it enough since the patch to notice yet.

Ther have been a few things that are really peeing me off with the patch- chief of which is that airpower now seems about 10x more lethal and harder to take out. Oh and the claymore changes. Have I mentioned those?

But on the weapons front I've been quite lucky that none of my class favourites; SCAR/AKs74u, KH2002, and M27IAR have been adversely affected.

I am a bit disappointed with the G3A3, the promised improvements don't seem to have changed much- but it's still a firm favourite for it's noise/range alone

I've actually gone back to he M27 as I'm finding oneofhe few guns that is dropping soldiers. Struggled with the VAL without the extended mag, always seemed to be half a dozen bullets away, but liking it now I have the ext mag.

I've noticed more and more high rankers (massively to my cost last night, I mean totally owned) are using the M16a3. I'm not sure with what attachment/perk setup, but loads of peeps are using it. A few of us came up against a clan in SDM last night and I think I know now what it must be like to get farked up the arse. Seriously, our PH squad got anhilated.

Being on the Russian side at the time, and having not yet unlocked it for both sides I was prevented from dishing out some like-minded vengeance...

i tried for a quick hour last night at ten thirty ish, got on after rebooting the ps3 once spawned on Seine - no gun....no 'nade, no clays. just wandering around aimlessly (literally)...got shot and killed twice. rebooted, game wouldn't connect....

oh, i cud drop ammo though...wierdness

I got on for a few last night as well and just couldn't do anything in the first round I played. Not through lack of weapons but a lack of ability. I would take off and immediately crash, try parachute and just splat on the floor, crash jeeps into everything, roll any tanks. It was a nightmare.

After that, it went ok though!

the smaller one is for the servers i think then the 1gb is the main one. think you need to redownload back to karkland after that too as its not showing any of the assignments as complete for me and i can't use my trusty L85.

I think it varies depending upon which platform you're playing it on.

The M27 and FAMAS are markedly different post patch on the PS3 and all of the guns I typically use (KH2002, M27, PDW-R) have more recoil and seem to have less hits registering, to the point where I haven't actually bothered playing for the past couple of days - I just can't seem to kill anyone with my usual weapons and it gets boring very quickly.

I'm confused...

Downloaded the 172mb update for the Xbox. All was said and done, and the game then requested a 1.02gb update. Fair enough, but decided to cancel it and leave it until later.

...However, I can still play BF3 online with full servers, despite the fact I refused to update. I thought I wouldn't be able to go online?

Any idea chaps? :/
