Noob question here: if I buy the basic BF3 for £20 from Amazon, will I be disappointed/miss out? I am still only playing BF2 in Karkand.

Definitely not, it's a great game even if you don't have the DLC maps. At that price, I'd suggest once you have it, buy premium at £40, then all the maps can be downloaded at no extra charge (will be around £50-60 to download them all separately once they've been released)

It actually costs closer to £30, but I played it for a week or two before I went Premium and couldnt believe how much extra stuff I got once I upgraded. Yes, you can buy it all separately but it's much better VFM to go Premium. Armoured kill is the next update on the list, tbh I'm not that excited about (relatively speaking) because I'm not a big vehicle player and AK is going to be about big, open maps with large distances between objectives to promote vehicle use. The update after is set in earthquake-ravaged Tehran, so will feature some really wild urban terrain, I was looking at a "first look" thing about it on a mate's phone the other day, it sounds like it will be brilliant. Also, to all people experiencing the sound glitch; DICE know about this glitch, apparently it's been on their "bugs being fixed in the next patch" lists that they post on the Battlelog forums for a while, but with every update nothing happens. They probably don't know how to fix it!

Was playing it at someone's house today. I noticed you can only talk to people in your squad if they are in TeamSpeak or on your Friends list? Is there no way of communicating orally with your squad members otherwise?

You're better off with TS though imo.

Yeah, that's what we were doing but when we joined another server where he had no contacts, we might as well have been playing offline. No teamwork at all.

Anyone else seen the glitches on Metro (Xbox version).
Played some rounds last night and was being killed by people who were above the map and in the ceiling. Very annoying!

This is for the PS3- I spawned on someone in the ceiling above the locker room behind Flag C and could run the entire length of the station to the doors in front of Flag A, couldn't find a way down into the main playing area or shoot down though, but I've seen others do it only in one place (side stairs down from Flag B towards A). No idea how the guy I spawned on got up there either, but he was Recon, so possible MAV shennanigans (or just wanted to place a spawn beacon once he was up there).

You can jump up from somewhere in the US tunnel side, from the top of a couple of junction boxes.
You can shoot out from the stairway towards the ticket hall flag, and you can capture it from up there too, but apart from that it is useless and unproductive to sit up there all the time.

I am sick of Americans on UK servers :-( they seem to be bullet proof of I go up against them 1-1, spoils the game if you know you aren't in a fair fight!
