Obviously the 'knob' isn't fired at the likes of you Graham, sheesh even I've found myself coming out of base and stopping to bring down some helis. It was aimed more at the lvl 100 Colonels who hog the AA for a whole round sitting in an area they know they cant be attacked in. You can normally find them standing in the uncap right where the AA spawns (Apache wes do the same) when they are needed out in the field.
Anyway, the AK Gunship is the new mobile AA. Had a Russian (and yes I will call him a knob) lvl 100 at the weekend and he wouldn't spawn until he could get into the gunship, and then he would switch teams at the end of the round so he could do it again the next round. When he switched teams for the 3rd time, despite being on the winning team I quit the game as he was boiling my piss. I wonder just how he managed to get to lvl 100. Oh, actually I think I do.....

Perhaps take a minute or two to read that back.
then ask again if you are still confused.
Nope, still don't follow.then ask again if you are still confused.
If its the pussy, noob and knob reference then just be glad you're not playing BF3 on the PC with me. I swear..quite a bit, mainly for effect, I don't have tourettes. You'd have a coronary.

I've had a break from BF3 for a few months (well, gaming full stop) - so what's the verdict on the new expansion packs? Are any worth getting?
I think Armoured Kill is very disappointing.Close Quarters is better especially if you like lots of action/kills etc

Armoured kill can be very good or very bad, depending on who is on your team - even more so than regular bf3.
If you are doing coordinated tank runs, teaming up in the attack heli, flying 6 men across the map in a chopper it can be fun, but when you have no team players and you keep spawning a mile from the action with no vehicles at your base, it can feel very slow and clunky indeed.
Selfish players are exposed even more, as they jump in the tanks and drive off, leaving you stranded at the spawn. Thing us, I'm usually playing engineer with a repair torch, so it would have been in their interest to carry me anyway. Oh well.

The only tactic I feel should be looked down upon is jet ramming (jet pilots flying their jets into helicopters) and even with this, most of the time the jet pilot is hoping to take out the heli with its cannon before hitting it and is not deliberately kamikazeeing.
I confess to being guilty of this sometimes. Easily done especially when bits start flying off. Doing it less these days.Don't know whether it's down to AK or the new assignments or something, but rape from the sky seems more prevalent than usual. Had some very frustrating games combining a rubbish team with a seriously air savvy opposition. Had a game on Karg earlier where the WHOLE enemy team was either flying or sniping. We took all the objectives and it was 6-7 mins before any of the objectives was attacked. Mental.
Whilst my general flying about (chopper and jet) skills are getting better, against a decent pilot I am still nothing more than target practise. For instance, how the hell do people decimate tanks with jets? I can never seem to be in the right place at the right time.
One the flipside, the longer lock distance for stingers means I've taken out a lot of choppers although jets are still very tough to catch.

Yep, some of the Gunship maps can just be a waste of time, you die the second you spawn. All they need is a good pilot in the jet covering them and if your team on the ground don't use stingers then whilst you stand trying to get a lock, you are blown to bits.Whilst my general flying about (chopper and jet) skills are getting better, against a decent pilot I am still nothing more than target practise. As for taking down a tank, climb up a bit, then start a slow dive, hit the brakes as you do it to have longer to shoot. Then hit the tank with the gun for a second, switch to rockets and fire them off then if the tank is still alive you should have another second to use the gun before you have to pull up - and it's toast.

Thanks for the above...I'll experiment with the jet. No rockets yet though...
I would also like to add...the LSAT is now my least favourite gun. Trying to do the assignment. Just seems to lack both power and accuracy. Especially off the bipod.
I'm also struggling on the new maps with aerial assault. I can fly the stuff but everyone else seems a pro and has all the upgrades. shame as I enjoying flying about!I would also like to add...the LSAT is now my least favourite gun.
