I don't have many BF3 friends on the PS3 but if I'm online and can help anyone with unlocks etc please feel free to invite me along as a willing target.
Check out the list of players on battlelog or the ps3 thread early pages, its good to have as many bf3 friends as possible as its so much better playing with others.Sqdm and gunmaster night tonight?
Might need to put gunmaster on first as the only way I'm getting top 5 is when there's only five players!
Had a match last night.. Conquest on the map where one team starts on a ship and the others are in a train yard?
It was actually pretty boring because we got to the flags so quick the other team hadn't even got off the ship, and so the tanks just sat at the water edge firing off at anything that tried to make it across. Plus our chopper pilot was over there ruining their choppers before they even got lift off.
So thats a case of the team working together too well.
Although in the next match it was much better, much more fair and we had a good long battle.

A lot of conquest maps are designed for one team to have an advantage - the US forces on the ship are an invading 'army'. Others are more balanced such as Metro. It was actually pretty boring because we got to the flags so quick the other team hadn't even got off the ship, and so the tanks just sat at the water edge firing off at anything that tried to make it across. What platform do you play on? Last night at short notice we had 8-9 players on one server on ps3, not sure how it is on pc/xbox.

Whoops, didn't errr read the question..
Andrew this is for guided rockets not heat seekers. Got there in the end.As for people not playing the objective, they are fools. I have a pretty good friends list (has taken a few years of play battlefield games though) so normally find someone to play the objectives with.
I spend a lot of time trying to unlock the assignments/medals - typically that means I find a specific game type/map that is suited to achieving whatever it is I need to achieve and just play that for a while. Normally the achievements involve kills/vehicle destroys/capturing objectives, so I'm indirectly playing the objective anyway, but winning the game isn't my prime objective.
I once spent several hours worth of games hiding in corners waiting to jump out and knife people to unlock the melee medal, that was huge fun and actually taught me a lot about some of the maps and how people play them, but I'm pretty sure I'd have been more effective if I actually fired a few rounds every now and again!
Assault - M416/Famas/F2000/AEK.... Mostly with RDS and foregrip
Engineer - A91 (probably one of the best guns in the game) foregrip/RDS smaw/jav/sting as appropriate
Support - M249/LOVE the M60 bipod/extended mag/rds or acog and C4 (the.best.thing.ever.)
Recon - Sv98/M98 whatever gadget suits
Handguns wise, usually the Rex at the moment, it's devastating.
Ground Vehicles - proximity + guided shell/hmg/canister depending on map
Air - I'm so crap it doesn't really matter!
If I'm playing TDMCQ I'll often shotgun it up. The 870 is king.
Obviously there's lots of other stuff I use/like but those are my favourites. Currently, I've been opening the upcoming unlocks in battlelog and using whatever weapon has the next one, then switching out.

Anyone on PS3 who doesn’t normally play with people off here (particularly JasandJules ) if you fancy it we are organising a PH v PH match for Sunday night (details on the PS3 thread), only requirement is that you are on the Battlelog and either in the PH platoon or a friend of mine – this is simply because we organise the match through the battlelog. Everyone is welcome, just let me know if you are in on the PS3 thread.

I don't think I will be able to do this Sunday as I have to take the missus out but please PM your PS3 tag and I'll send you a FR. TheHangingJudge said:
Depends on what you like, Close Quarters is very COD, Armoured Kill is huge maps, lots of vehicles. In theory I should really like the latter but I find the combat not quite intense enough because they are so large, Rush may be different I've managed to forget to play it on the AK maps for a while, at the beginning people seemed more focussed on exploring than the objective.
I see what you mean about the large maps, I hardly saw anyone to entire game! I may have to get the other one to see if it's better.Jasandjules said:

That’s a shame, would have been interested in your take on the styles of some of the players on here, tag on PSN is same as here. Anyone else fancy the match?
Couldn't make the Sunday game as moving house but managed to have a drunk mates game Friday which reminded me how much fun this can be... HOWEVER
I would like to claim the most bizarre glitch I have seem ... mate of mine decided to t-bag me having watched my death from afar ... the process revived me (he was engineer).
Anyone else had this happen .. its a traumatic way to be revived but welcome all the same.

Just 11 more tank destroys in an attack helicopter to go until I've unlocked all of the assignments!
Then it's back to the boring drudge of racking up wins at TS, CQ DOM and Gunmaster to unlock those medals, plus a few more mortar kills and laser assists and that should me be out of objectives to play the game for.
I guess Aftermath will be out soon though with more assignments and medals.

Why does no one take the choppers down?
I'm the only one who swaps out to a stinger and takes it out, the enemy must hate it big time.. I don't even give it a chance, as soon as I see it.. Boom it's down. Get plenty of kills that way!
I do, I tend to go almost exclusively anti-air these days as engineer, just because shooting things down makes me laugh I'm the only one who swaps out to a stinger and takes it out, the enemy must hate it big time.. Stingers are so good these days, it's easy kills.
