The new maps are brilliant. I found "the secret reptile" on the Epicenter map by accident the first time I played it. I was looking at the pipe you crawl through, thinking "hmm, I could fit in there..." and it popped on the way through, ace.

Played a match of scavenger and won it, so only two more to go to unlock the crossbow. Loving this update so far, it needed to be good to make up for the utter disappointment of Armoured Kill, and it seems to deliver.

The 93R is a great weapon (sidearm) for Scavenger - gives you a real advantage over others starting with a 1911 etc.

.44 Magnum isn't too bad either.

I do love the .44 Magnum, except for it's massive recoil. The 93R isn't too bad, but for a starting sidearm in Scavenger I tend to find myself using the G18, fully automatic rather than a 3 round burst. However the recoil is a bit much in some cases.

I find the Rex the business for side arms. Right amount of stopping power vs recoil although you can get through the six rounds really quick.

So far Aftermath does seem good. I've warmed to AK although Alborez Mountains is still a pain in the arse of a map. The tank destroyers are one of my favourite additions to the game though. I've had some epic streaks on Bandahar in them.

I am FINALLY getting to the point where I can actually kill some stuff in the jet rather than flying round aimlessly. Has opened the game up for me quite a bit. Still get annihilated by the career pilots, but ho hum.

Hmm! I really pissed of a Aussie last night. Apparently I'm 'a fking pommy faget fking moron etc etc'.

To be fair his mates server did say 'no stingers' However the reason for no stingers was so that he and his mates could bum rape the RU base on Noshahr Canals without anyone being able to fire back. So I thought fk em.
Anyway merry Christmas to die hard BF3 players.

Peace and good will to all men.

Hi, will add you - there will be a load of us on tonight as we have a match, it will kick you out once it starts (10.30pm, I'm afraid the team is already full) but before would be a good time to get a load of friend requests sent and then once thats done you will usually find at least one person on. Has to be said we don't use the PH server as much as we should but I suppose we all want to go off and do other maps.

Okay, I've got a question.

When you get over 130 kills do you automatically get disconnected? Every time I get over about 125 kills, my Xbox freezes or I lose connection and I know it's not me because whenever someone gets to the same point, they disappear. What the fk is happening?

I haven't kept tabs on kill numbers, but every now and again it does like to freeze on me, it's been like this since I first bought the game. Hopefully, after the 2GB update they've finally fixed the issue, just finished downloading Endgame, will report back soon.

Over 130 career kills, or 130 in one round ? laugh Not a problem I've faced tbh, I'm happy if I get to 30 kills!

Having said that I have had a few occasions recently that the xbox has locked up or crashed out of the game. Feels like it is more regular since the last map/patch was released.

Most stupid server rule award this week goes to the server that didn't allow level 100 or over!!!

Anyone watching this trolling mini series? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM9Wo01X2ug

Tried some of the things he did but always failed seems i'm worse at trolling than playing normally!

Is Close Quarters worth 600ms points?

I never bothered with it as it seemed too much like Call Of Duty maps, now its half price I'm reasonably tempted.

Probably not. Some of the weapons are half decent, but it's not a particularly enjoyable game mode compared to the others.

The maps take a while to learn and how well you do in each game is very dependent on how good your connection is compared to others.

You'll also probably find that the number of different servers you can play on is limited as people are playing the other game modes.

Cheers for that matey. I'll save the points. Might get the Trials Evolution add on pack or just save them.

There are no shortages of BF3 maps anyway as I've got every other map pack.

For me close quarters was a disappointing expansion pack.

I didn't play it for long, but then I'm a tank we.
Gun master is pretty intense though, if you like that sort of thing.

Close quarters does what it says on the tin - fast, frantic, in your face action, so it's great in that sense. It's basically a run and gun shotgun fest.

The HD destruction must be good on the PC as well - you can shoot through (plasterboard) walls and basically make a mess of the maps.

However, it's not really what BF3 is about: wide open maps, with lots of vehicle action and multiple ways to play the game.

I suspect it wouldn't have been quite so panned if they'd released it after Aftermath, it was just the first "real" expansion pack and many people thought it took BF3 in completely the wrong direction.

Gunmaster is an interesting concept, but incredibly frustrating in the weapons it makes you use (M249 with a 4x scope and no bipod?!!banghead).

Hi, just popping over from the COD sections......

I have just bought a copy of BF3 and the online pass has been used, is there any way to get one without paying £7.99 or does anyone have a pass for the PS3 that they don't need?

Cheers
