Wonderfull game, only dissapointment for me was not enough turrets, no cake, and the song at the end was not a patch on the first one.
Agreed. I remember the first one being alot harder - but then again, having completed it maybe it helps you get your head around 2 which in turn, makes it easier. Nice to have some new features like the fluids too.Song wasn't a patch on the original, but still good.
Started playing the split screen co-op with ermm... myself (2 controllers) - that really bends your brain
All in all, highly recommended.

It will work on some of the levels, but I can remember a lot of points where you needed simultaneous action, so you might need to create a clone of yourself (or recruit a friend, my girlfriend was useless).I much prefer the soundtrack of Portal 2. The self generated music was great but the opera piece at the end is my favourite. The way it builds the crescendo is just incredible, before it mutes to the drum and synth track as the door slams shut. I believe this is supposed to leave you questioning the fate you have received. Below ground there is a concerto of beautiful music playing, above ground there is nothing but silence and desolation. Quite an impact for the ending.
And 'Want You Gone' is a great song too. They had a mountain to climb to make something as good as "Still Alive" and they did it. But it is surely the opera song that I like the most, it was so unexpected in the same was a "Still Alive" was. Utterly beautiful.
I'm also glad they didn't bring back the cake, as Portal is so much more than the internet craze of "the Cake is a lie".

I mean, it was incredible how one relatively minor line from the game ended up everywhere. I thought Portal 2 was much better, and the Glados potato was pretty cool. And Cave Johnson's speech about lemons.
Never saw any cake related stuff, must have been in a cave.I liked the way cave johnsons pictures got more and more haggered and his attitude more bizarre and desperate in the recordings.
Glados is my favorite game character ever I think. I hope she appears in future games in some way.
In the original Portal the cake thing was some incentive from Glados to do tests, with the premise being that there would be cake and celebration for your success. Eventually she reveals that there was no cake and she had been lying to you.
I have to say, Portal 2's ending might be the most powerful in gaming history. What a masterpiece.
